We came here around 9:30am on a Wednesday morning. There were only a few groups dining, and we got an outside table immediately. The interior was decorated in gentle wooden colors. The restaurant looked clean and was surrounded by green and nice shade. We were looking for a new breakfast place to try in KL. I would definitely recommend here if you did not try it out yet.
Our order: Ong Lai Ong Lai Valencia orange juice with ginger B. Marley with Garlic roasted tomatoes Bonnie & Clyde Honey saffron yogurt thyme cheese cake
I liked Ong Ong Lai because of refreshing citrus pulps and thyme had a nice touch for the aftertaste. Orange juice tasted like it was just squeezed and ginger flavor was very zappy and waking our sleepy brain. Both drinks were fresh and energizing.
B. Marley with garlic roasted tomato. The punchy garlic flavor really enhanced roasted tomatoes to another level. It reminded me of the first time I tried pesto sauce in my life. Great use of the garlic which was pretty new to me. I loved all of the types of mushrooms, they were cooked really well but still had a nice resilient texture. My wife said truffle oil flavor was nice and subtle, but to me it was a bit overpowering.
Bonnie & Clyde Salmon was a little overcooked, but still juice was there. I love the sauce and avocado butter on it a lot. I would ask for a double amount of avocado butter if allowed. Porched eggs were beautiful and runny yolk added another deeper flavor to the dish. Asparagus was cooked great, but I did not understand why they were below everything like the witch under the Dorothy's house of Oz, so we needed to wait until I finished other components on the plate. And also I was not sure why tobiko was there. Anyway, this dish was my meal of the day! I think you should try it if you come here for the first time.
Honey saffron yogurt thyme cheese cake It was the first cheese cake I had in a long time. Loved the main cheese cake part. I thought the honey buried other flavors but the cake was enjoyable. They also have the burnt citrus cheese cake as well, which I would love to try next time.
Our negative side: Music We chose an outside table because that's usually more quiet and easy to enjoy concersations without being interfered. But the music was a little loud here, and they played only Taylor Swift songs through the whole time we were there. I don't mean I hate Taylor Swift, I like her music. But hearing the same artist for the whole time makes it feel a little bit tedius.
Price The price was a rather higher than we expected to be. That does make it harder to invite friends over to chat.
It seemed pretty close to the station called Bangsar on the map. But with crossing several lanes of the busiest main streets, it was difficult to walk there, especially in the morning. I have a health issue and cannot run easily, so it's better to choose grab to go...

Read moreThis cafe definitely deserves its own hype ! It’s like a gem hidden in the city. Looking at the pics online, you’ll first thought that it’s located far from the city centre but its not. Its truly amazing how they’re able to create a rustic forest kinda ambience. Definitely a great spot for aesthetic/instagrammable pics.
The place doesn’t allow reservations so its better to call and check first. I called them in advance before coming and they answered pretty quickly which really helps. I would say the queue can be quite long as the cafe itself is not that spacious but there are seats provided while you wait. The hostess in-charged that day was super nice ! She always come to check in on us and update us on the queue. Kudos to her !
The great thing there is that you don’t have to stay in line doing nothing as you can go and take great pics at the iconic places there. She’ll call your name when its your turn so worry not.
So as for the food and service, it didn’t take long for our food to arrive piping hot that is. They’re very attentive and soft-spoken. My party ordered the Jesse James (Burger), The Hannibal (Burger), Admiral Cheng-Ho (Pasta) and Moo-Din (Toasties). All the flavours are spot on ! I don’t usually eat pickles and mustard but it fits so perfectly with the Beef Burger that i had. Portion-wise, it fits the price well and not to mention, making me super full.
Overall, it’s a great spot for hangouts and stuff. The ambience is super nice and cozy. Bear in mind that they don’t have many big tables to cater for a large group especially during this SOP season. So better to confirm with them before coming. I look forward to go there again to try their other dishes and simply to have...
