Unwined KL — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

The only thing great about this place is the ambiance and maybe the music. I felt like I was sized up by the bar manager as soon as I entered. When enquiring about the wine her driving question is “what is your budget”. Once I told her below RM300, she led that most bottles are above my range and I’m limited to a small selection. Which is ridiculous having been to several natural wine bar in KL and this range should give a decent selection. Perhaps improving on your customer service would be to make pricing transparent so we limit the back and forth convo about the budget? Recently, I saw a review about unwined, and personally have to disagree, feel like i gotta review and voice out.

you should not discredit a person that way. The female sommelier is great at introducing wines, she takes her time explaining to us as we’ve never tried natural wine before and have had not show any ‘rubbish’ attitude towards me or anyone when i was around. Plus after all the explanations she even told us to take our time and chose a low price bottle for us to try first to have a feel of natural wines first.

A nice spot for natural wine enthusiasts, though a larger air-conditioned section would make it even better. While natural wine prices in Malaysia are generally on the higher side—and this place is no exception—it’s worth noting that most standard restaurants/ bars mark up regular wine prices by 2-3 times the bottle’s cost and all they do is basically open the bottle for you 😅.
