Hoyofest Event (Genshin) 29 September 2022 Review Part 2
When we reached La Juiceria there was already a queue, consisting of people from the same timeslot. There was a shade above where we queued so it wasn’t hot or uncomfortable. Immediately you will meet staff members who will attend to you. Three staff members approached us while we queued, each of them respectively provided us with our meal voucher, redemption card (for tracking your participation in the scratch card activity/Tiktok challenge, and tracking amount of merch purchased), and the scratch card + the prize you won from it. You can either win a postcard or a keychain from the scratch card. One of them will also provide the menu for you to order your food and drink. The food and drinks you’re able to order depends on which combo set you chose during reservation (RM36 / RM45 set)
Our selected timeslot was 1pm and they were punctual. We were already seated by 1.03pm. My cousin and I were seated at a shared table with two other people, which we didnt really mind but we would have preferred to have our own table, however its understandable because it looked like the amount of tables were limited.
We loved the decorations and it really helped set the atmosphere of a Genshin-themed event. There were many standees (Raiden, Zhongli, Venti, Paimon, Lumine, Nilou, Tighnari, Collei), and the walls and tables were covered in Genshin and Hoyofest art. The restaurant itself did not feel cramped, and the crowd control was good too.
It took around 10mins for our food to arrive. When your food and drinks are served, they will also give you a bag of Genshin themed gifts (postcard, coaster, cup sleeve, sticker sheet, food & drinks tags) At this point I found out you can only get the Hoyofest paper bag and Hoyofest postcard if you purchase merch. The food was great. We both ordered the Imported Poultry dish where you can select either a salad or rice base. We both went for rice and it was really aromatic. The chicken was crispy, flavourful and not oily at all. The vege’s were also fresh. As for the drinks, we got the Berry & Mint Burst and the Wolfhook Juice. The Berry & Mint tasted a little like Sprite and was topped with Goji berries. Wolfhook Juice was like a mild lemon juice. The drinks were a nice pair with our food, they were refreshing but not too overpowering. My cousin wanted to take away half of her rice to eat later on and we saw a staff walking around who was already prepared with take-away boxes to provide to customers. There was no charge on the take away & I liked how prepared they were.
The merch selection was pretty huge, mostly consisting of character keychains, badges, and standees. I also saw some pillow cases and mousepads there. Some of the items were sold out already. You can pay with cash, E-wallet or QR pay, not too sure if you can pay with card because I didnt look properly.
For each timeslot we were actually only allowed to spend 45mins including eating time, buying merch and taking photos in the restaurant. Most of the customers were done eating by 45mins but there were many of us who wanted to buy merch, so we ended up staying past 45mins. It felt a little rushed but again its understandable, they needed to be on time to prepare for the next timeslot’s batch of customers.
After exiting the restaurant my cousin and I spent some time loitering around taking more pics with the outdoor photo stand. There were many props there for you to pose with such as Klee’s bomb, Luxurious Sea Lord (Fish claymore), End of the Line (Fish bow), and the Hoyofest and Genshin logos.
Overall i would say La Juiceria handled and managed the Hoyofest event really well. The staff members were coordinated and we felt well taken care of. We didn’t have to worry about looking for staff members because most of the time, they are the ones who would come to attend to us proactively. The only minor thing I wished could be better was to have a little more time for each time slot. 45min felt slightly rushed, because we needed time to...

!!! LADIES (or anyone, really) PLEASE BEWARE !!!
DISCLAIMER: this part of the review is about the RM 8 outdoor parking space opposite of Nadi Bangsar (which was suggested by the Hoyofest website’s FAQ) and NOT about La Juiceria. I cant find the Google Maps page for the parking space so I’m writing about it here so at least people who are parking here for Hoyofest, or to visit any surrounding eateries etc can be aware of this (In fact, La Juiceria did an amazing job organising the Hoyofest event and made the event really enjoyable. We really appreciate the team’s effort)
My cousin and I were going to attend the Hoyofest event held at La Juiceria Nadi Bangsar on 29 Sept, 1pm. We went there by car so we parked at the RM8 outdoor parking space, just opposite of Nadi Bangsar. We arrived at the parking space around 12.40~ 12.50pm. Upon entering we had to pay the fee to the guy working there so I winded down my window to give him the fee. He then told me to proceed to park my car and that he will give us the receipt in a moment. So I arrived at the lot i wanted to park but took some time parking (because I am bad at parking). The guy walked over with my receipt, and through the open window on my side, he gave me guidance on how to angle my car for parking which was fine, until he said to my cousin (who was sitting in the passenger seat next to me) that she has a “cute face”. We were both shocked at this unwanted comment, and then he also told her “Oh you got dimples, I have them too”. It felt like he was flirting at my cousin and she felt uncomfortable hearing all that. Why was he looking at my cousin so intently to notice details about her face??? We were there to PARK OUR CAR not for someone to hit on my cousin like this and it was unprofessional to be saying things like that to a customer. My cousin and I just laughed it off awkwardly because there wasnt much we could do, we were two girls who were afraid of any retaliation if we were to tell him off, and also, my car was parked on his lot, so he could do anything to my car once we walked away. Other than that, he also offered to get into my car to take over and help me park my car. In my mind it was a terrible idea because if i accepted, it means he will be sitting next to my cousin whom he was just behaving inappropriately towards. So i declined and continued to park my car and he was joking to me that i must have bribed to get my driver’s license approved, which made me annoyed but i just brushed it off because we just wanted to get to La Juiceria for the Hoyofest event, and not entertain any more from this guy. He could have just given me my receipt and provided me verbal guidance on how to park and left us alone, but he chose to crack some unfunny jokes and make unnecessary and creepy comments on my cousin. This would have been extra scary if either one of my cousin or I were there alone, or if we were there at night.
I did not take photos of the guy, but here’s a basic description of his appearance so you all roughly know who to look out for: Tall skinny Indian guy, buzzcut/shaved hairstyle, was wearing formal attire when we encountered him (collared shirt, long trousers) , seems to be in his late 20’s or 30’s.
We paid an expensive fee of RM 8, expecting the bare minimum of just having a safe space to park my car in, but instead we were met with this BS and were left feeling uncomfortable. My suggestion is, try to find other places to park (after returning home and checking other reviews it seems like you can park inside Nadi Bangsar itself in the visitor parking for around RM4 for first 2 hours. But while we were there we did not check to verify this)
Inappropriateness aside, that outdoor parking space was more than halfway full when we arrived there (12.40~12.50pm). It wasn’t too far of a walk to reach La Juiceria which was just...
Read moreOnce in a while, I love to eat healthy food, or at least the food that I thought is healthy 😬 not an easy task actually.. I had to resist the temptations of eating non-compliant foods which, as much as I hate to admit, are always delicious than healthy food. So I got to know about this place in Bangsar area - and out of my to-go-at-least-once rule I made my plan there. Parking was definitely a batch as I had to park by the road side risking to get summon.
First impression of the restaurant was good - it boasts a floor-to-ceiling glass which gave the whole place a bright and vibrant feel. The strong lunch crowd gave me a feel good factor and true enough, we left the place vowing to come back again for breakfast next time - yes, this is a combined posts.
◾ Melbourne's Magic - quadruple shot of espresso with steamed milk. You could feel the stronger flavour due to the extra shots. ◾Babycino ◾Double cheese chilly scrambled egg - kampung eggs, parmesan and cheddar cheese, chilly mayo, spring onions, toasted sweet corn, smokes streaky beef and charcoal brioche bun ◾Eggs Benedict - poached kampung eggs, baby spinach, roasted cherry tomatoes, hollandaise and toasted bread ◾Truffle Omelette - omelette infused with truffle oil, sautéed mushrooms, red & green capsicum, zucchini, tomato relish, parmesan cheese, side salad, cherry tomatoes, with high fibre bread ◾Croissant & jam - buttery croissant, butter, strawberry jam ◾Mushroom soup - this was part of the lunch menu and to their credits, they did a good job. ◾Cauliflower rice with roasted chicken - love the low carb options that was offered in the menu. I could eat...
