Okay so first off. I chose this place solely based on the images from google. I didnāt check the reviews at all. The images checked out my requirements, it was cute, looked cozy, and had good looking food and drinks. I was very excited to go here.
The accessibility to the location is quite bad. Thereās no parking or anything so thatās something youāve got to keep in mind.
As soon as we walked in staff did not greet us. We had to ask to be seated, and only then they checked and asked us to go to the table at the back.
Before getting seated one of the staff were trying to fix the table. I think there was a misalignment with the table and he didnāt acknowledge that we were just standing there. He didnāt say sorry, he didnāt ask us to sit down or anything after he was done. At first I didnāt really care about it,.
So there was a QR code we had to scan on the table and the staff said that we should be done eating out meals within 20 minutes. I just donāt understand why he said it, at first I thought he said the order will be prepared in 20mins. But I asked again and he said we needed to leave in 20.
It was so absurd but we decided to still have our food, take out time and then leave. We tried to order using the QR code and it only showed payment via card. I only had cash on me.
So i asked the staff what I could do and he kept stalling say we donāt have change and I said that they can keep the change I donāt mind, and then in the very last moment he accepted cash and gave me the change aswell. Iām honestly feeling really weird at this point. The staff was so off putting and the vibes were just not it.
The meal was not that great. Not the best value for money if Iām being honest. I had a matcha rose latte, which I loved. The tiramisu tart was just too hard. No flavor at all. The eggs Benedict was okay, the salad that came with it was just washed and not dried. It had no dressing. Literally had a lot of water on it. The carbonara was okay. It wasnāt bad.
Overall, we didnāt finish our food completely and we left within 20 minutes I guess. No one smiled and said goodbye, as expected.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. Staff is super stuck up, the place is cute and all. And in my personal opinion I feel like the drinks are the only thing thatās worth to have here.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really wanted to like this place. It looked nice from the outside, the front had a lot of light which I love, and we were planning to spend more time and order more dishes.
But the first experience threw me off. The service personnel was impersonal and not welcoming, too hip and cool maybe in her nonchalance, and when I asked for the music to be turned down just a bit as it was too loud, the automatic response was a curt "oh no, we can't, it's set by the boss and it cannot be changed". It surprised me as I used to run a cafe and if my staff spoke in that manner to a new customer, she would not be doing that again. Only when I told her I had difficulty having a conversation with the loud music (which was a good selection of tracks actually) she said she would try but it didn't seem she did (or at least it didn't get noticeably softer) until another customer from Australia next to me said the same thing.
The food was bland for me, not something I would come back for, but the coffee was decent.
The gentleman next to me said the food was good, so my experience could have been just for what we ordered, and other dishes we didn't order could be really good.
So instead of staying longer, we left and moved across the street to another cafe in the white building across called Three Years Old.
The service experience was the exact opposite - friendly, helpful, music was just nice to serve as a background to the overall experience. I'm writing this without trying the coffee and pastries yet, but I know this is a place I would return to, instead of the Breakfast Spot. The energy is different, the feeling is different, and it feels much more welcoming and comfortable here - just from crossing the street 10 steps away.
So yeah, it's not only the location, the design and the offerings - it's the people, and how they see and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the second time I am in breakfast spot. I love this cafe, the matcha, the food (although it was not up the standard but I am willing to spend. But today is going to be my last here. I wish to come back, but the poor irrational treatment I received was certainly a bad experience for us.
We came together 3 of us thinking of having the best breakfast in a new chic cafe in town together. We have a baby with us. And we were given a very small table to fit all the beautiful delicacies. So we have to take turn. We canāt eat together. Our breakfast was ruined.
We did request for the next table (bigger because it is empty). We requested for a reason, a very valid reason. We are three with a toddler and it is very unsafe for us (we worried the table fall and all our food and cutleries fall down). Yet they said it was reserved. We were ok. A chinese elderly couple came and sat. After a few moments they change table. We requested again since they change. We are not allowed to do that. Is that because we are malay and being treated with inequality? Yes we thought we were not given the privilege to change because pf our race because the chinese before that can do that. Please, we are in 2022. Please be rational. The table was so small, your plates were big, and you have many food choices and coffee. We requested because we felt unsafe and the table was damaged, it was not stable!
When a family with a baby came to your beautiful cafe, do consider the size of your tables. We are not having breakfast in warung mind you. All of you are professionals. Please prove that.
Let us enjoy the breakfast with ease and not fear of...
