VCR — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Found VCR on Google as I was searching for good coffee in this area, and the place certainly did not disappoint. In fact, we were really impressed with the quality of their food and coffee, and the standard of service.

If you crave barista made espresso coffee when you are in KL, this is where you need to be. We enjoyed our lattes very much. Strong dark roast taste, not acidic or bitter. Everything was done at the right temperature so the froth was not too thick and nothing was burnt. The standard was very similar to some of the best coffees in Australia.

The soft shell crab burger is definitely not to be missed. The bun is similar to the Mos Burger bun, soft, fluffy, and slightly sweet. The crunchiness of the crab, the tartar sauce, the pickle, and the sunny side up are just the perfect match. Every flavour and texture in the burger just worked together.

The granola is a good complimentary dish to go with the savoury soft shell crab burger. Well presented dish, with fresh ingredients and good quality yoghurt.

The seating environment is really comfortable and relaxing. Although it's a very popular cafe, it actually feels spacious. The space is filled with natural light, which is good for photos if you sit by the window. Staff were always very attentive and approachable. Air conditioning was at the right temperature, and wasn't too cold at all. Overall, it was just a very pleasant space to be in and I'd highly recommend it for breakfast if you prefer a western style...

One of the best cafes in KL that i have visited. Came here on a weekday for breakfast and the food and service did not disappoint. Had the opportunity to try their soft shell crab burger, VCR big breakfast and , as well as some of the drinks and coffee available. Service was fast and staff were very friendly and approachable. :D

○Service -Staff were very familiar with the menu items and had a friendly smile -accepted both cash payments as well as card payment -plenty of seats available as there was a second floor to accommodate more patrons -washroom is available after eating on the first floor

○Aesthetics -had a very homey vibe to it with warm orange lights and wooden furniture -music was comforting and played at a nice volume

○Food •soft shell crab burger -One of the best burgers I had, expected it to be quite heavy due to the sunny side egg and fried soft shell crab but that was not the case. The soft shell crab wasn't oily and was perfect paired with the cucumber and lime provided on the side. This overall made for a refreshing burger and definitely was one of the best burgers i had to this day.

•truffle scramble gravlax -generous amount of smoked salmon and scramble eggs -balance of flavour between the smoked salmon and the truffle was perfect as neither flavour was overpowering the other

•VCR big breakfast -perfect runny yolk egg -beans served were house made and not the regular canned beans -generous portion

My friends and I were looking for a place to have brunch near bukit bintang, and we heard that there is a famous cafe named VCR. We decided to check it out and see what the hype was about. We arrived around 10am and the shop was almost full. We managed to get a seat at the second floor, which had a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The only downside was that the front part of the second floor was a bit dark and could use more natural lighting.

We looked at the menu and ordered their popular items: the Pennsylvania’s Soul and the Soft Shell Crab Burger. We also ordered cappuccino and flat white for drinks. The Pennsylvania’s Soul was a dish of fried chicken and waffle with their special sauce. It was delicious and satisfying. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, the waffle had a nice texture and flavor, and the sauce was sweet and tangy. The Soft Shell Crab Burger was also quite tasty, but not very memorable. It had a crispy crab patty, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and mayo on a soft bun. The coffee was good too, with strong flavors and aroma. We enjoyed our meal and had a good time chatting with each other.

Overall, we would recommend VCR to anyone who is looking for a nice cafe with good food and coffee. It might not be the best cafe in town, but it is definitely...
