I absolutely love GMBB! It’s a refreshing and innovative twist on the typical shopping mall experience—more of a vibrant cultural hub filled with shoplots dedicated to crafts, arts, and unique creations. For art enthusiasts like me, it feels like stepping into a creative wonderland!
There’s so much to see and do here, making every visit an exciting journey. Highlights include: • Art exhibitions that beautifully showcase the works of local talents. • DIY workshops for crafts, painting, and other creative activities, perfect for all ages. • Interactive art installations that are not only fun but also perfect for capturing Insta-worthy moments. • Shopping for one-of-a-kind handmade items, artisanal products, and souvenirs that you won’t find anywhere else.
The facilities at GMBB are well-maintained, which enhances the overall experience. The surau is clean and comfortable, offering convenience for Muslim visitors, and the atmosphere throughout is welcoming and inspiring.
What sets GMBB apart is its emphasis on creativity, culture, and supporting local artists. It’s truly a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Bukit Bintang. Whether you’re an art lover, a shopper, or just someone looking for something unique to do, GMBB is a must-visit destination....
Read moreI was invited to GMBB, the location is right at the heart of KL city, Jalan bukit bintang.
It's walking distance from China Town, it just next to Swiss Garden Hotel.
Car park is easy and have plenty space. I went to the art & craft flea market. Medium size flea market, indoor and outdoor. Outdoor is a bit humid, but it's still okay. I bought some item from a handmade stall, the price is reasonable. They said these are all Malaysian Designers. That make the place and gathering special. A lot of artisan item that is suitable for tourists to bring home.
I also notice there is another shop - Mino Plus, the main permanent ship which sell Malaysian designer products. Cool!!
The name of the flea Market is - PingMin 平民 means ordinary people who live in the land, which easily lead to confusion to interpret as "poor community" 贫民。 This theme has grafted into the building concept, perhaps the value positioning need to be clearer which is helpful to the consumer to relate to.
There are some local retail around the building, some place for you to sit and drink juices/coffee.
I wish you all success and I will come back again to support...
Read moreA new concept for a mall. It is an arts and design mall. There are multiple small lots for display and a curated shop that sells the display items. Many of the designers are young from teenagers to in their 30s.
Products ranged from stationery like postcards to badges, greeting cards, and many more. Because they are produced in limited quantities and not mass produced, the prices are slightly higher. However, since it is to support our young designers from all over Malaysia, we should do our part to purchase some items during our visit. Of course there are pricey items like framed photos or painting that are in hundreds or thousands but for art collectors, it is a worth while bargain.
Lastly, there are special events like the one I just attendee over the Aidil Adha weekend. Two versions of puppetery from Malaysia and Taiwan both updated to the 21st Century.
Do subscribe to their FB page for events! The next one coming up, next week end is devoted to fashion.
All in all, it deserves multiple visits and for the casual or serious art lover, it is a different 'mall' to spend...
