Dinner at @dc_restaurant was definitely a standout 💫among the many restaurants I’ve had the privilege to visit, Michelin-starred or otherwise. Here are my thoughts:
Food rating: 10/10 ⭐️ The ingenuousness of the pairings were truly unmatched. Though it’s difficult to pick just 3, I especially loved: (1) Foie Gras with 70% Madagascar Chocolate and Nougatine - Foie gras is a strong savoury flavour that is most commonly paired with fruity or other savoury flavours, so the bitterness and depth of the chocolate was so surprising! The texture of the chocolate mousse perfectly matched the foie gras pate, and against the crunch of the Nougatine, I couldn’t have imagined a better mouth-feel! (2) French Scallops with Watercress Puree, Coconut Shoot, Zucchini, Apple Beurre Blanc (and Akimo Liver) - This was so special. First of all, I was really proud of myself for identifying the Akimo before it was introduced, and trying it was such a special experience. Being a seasonal fish, there really aren’t many opportunities to try it so I was so glad that I tried it for the first time in this dish. Against the firmness of the scallop it served almost as a thick sauce or a spread! The flavours were so complementary and the shoots were a nice crunch! (3) Blossom, Yuzu Elderflower Sorbet with Jasmine Chocolate Foam, Caramelised Chocolate Cream and Strawberry Spherification - Not only was this one of the prettiest desserts I’ve had, it was also the most (wonderfully) complex! The sorbet wasn’t icy, the jasmine foam was so perfectly perfumed and the popping strawberry sphere added just enough drama and flair.
Ambience Rating: 8/10 ⭐️ Nice, quiet and private, though nothing to shout about.
Service Rating: 12/10 ⭐️ The overall service was excellent. The courses were well paced, staff were attentive. But what truly tipped the scale was the extent that the staff went to accommodate our needs. Apart from receiving the cake and flowers, and offering an additional dessert, they walked us to the car carrying our leftover cake and the macarons (which were delectable btw) they sent us home with!
Would I come back?: A resounding yes!
*Special staff shout out to HUA 💕💐

Read moreThe best French restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, rightfully awarded a Michelin star. My husband and I adore French cuisine, especially when it incorporates a hint of Japanese allure and utilizes high-quality, fresh ingredients.
We opted for the main set menu, indulging in the French gastronomic delights of Louis 8. With a menu comprising 9 courses, each dish was crafted with meticulous attention, delivering robust flavors and exquisite pairings. Our dining experience commenced with a succulent fresh oyster accompanied by a crisp glass of champagne to awaken our taste buds. Following this, a refined dish of smoked oyster with caviar showcased a sophisticated blend of flavors, where the inclusion of black caviar wasn't merely ornamental. Subsequently, a selection of delectable chef's appetizers delighted our palates, featuring exemplary harmony among flavors and a delightful interplay of textures.
Transitioning to seafood, each course excelled—buttery and succulent bonito fish, scallops elevated by seaweed notes, and a standout dish of large tender shrimp bathed in sabayon sauce. Complemented by well-paired side dishes, the shrimp offered a sweet, juicy, and tender flavor profile.
The main dish is Wagyu beef, looks like an artist's painting. Artfully presented with vivid colors framing the succulent, tender, slightly fatty, and sweet meat. Accompanied by a side of fresh, crunchy vegetables, the beef dish was a harmonious symphony of flavors and textures.
Concluding with a series of dessert courses, each meticulously curated to offer a delightful blend of sour and sweet notes, varied textures, and culminating in a standout was dessert specially for our anniversary. The exceptional service further elevated our dining experience, with attentive waitstaff who executed their duties seamlessly throughout the evening. Prompt clearing of plates and efficient service underscored their dedication to ensuring our comfort.
In summary, this establishment is truly remarkable, and I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to anyone able to experience it. While the menu may not have featured standout or groundbreaking flavors, the consistently high level of culinary craftsmanship maintained throughout the dinner...

My partner and I decided to come here for our joined birthday celebration, and couldn’t be more pleased with our decision! He’d been wanting to try it out and what a better cause for a celebration, amirite?
We were seated at the top level, in one of the private dining rooms which was nice because you can really get the privacy if that’s what you seek.
We decided to go for the 5 course « fruits de mer » menu; and every single one of our dishes were amazing; from the amuse bouche, to the 3 starters with quality ingredients such as the Hokkaido Scallops, snow crab and uni. Literally ever bite was accompanied by an « mmmm », « so good »
For the main, both of us decided to opt for the slow roasted rack of lamb. This plate definitely converted me to a lamb lover! It was so tender and every bite quite literally melted in my mouth. Absolute treat.
Last but not least, the dessert. Because it was both our birthdays, we got double the dessert! Each of us received a raspberry lychee macaron which was to die for (on the house) and from the menu, we both decided to opt for the Gunaja 70% dark chocolate crepe soufflé. Now by this time both of us were stuffed to death but not a sight of anything remain on the plate. Just delightful!
All in all, it was the perfect birthday date for both of us. I couldn’t have imagined a better person to experience this with! If and when my wallet allows, I’ll be coming back, time and time again!

Came back with my partner to try the summer truffle menu and it was to die for! The only thing that was a tad disappointing was the main, which was a lamb rack, which came out somewhat raw (we weren’t asked for our meat cook preference) and was way too salty! Me already getting full décidéd not to make a comment, and just stopped eating. One of the restaurant manager noticed it and insisted on bringing a new smaller plate. It came out perfect and I’m glad they insisted on it. But this level of service, is really why I’ll come back time and time again (when my wallet...
