An interesting new fusion restaurant, featuring the food of Peru through a Japanese lens. Pretty pricey – but the quality of the food and drinks are sincerely worth it. Think of it as being cheaper than flying to Peru just to try out food thst you might not like...
My dinner companion Dawn and I had the Empanada de Cordero (a literal karipap made with Peruvian lamb stew) to start with, followed by the Atun Sellado (seared tuna, fried rice which was a substitute for quinoa, and a glace de viande, which is a basic meat glaze made by reducing and concentrating brown stock). The empanada was tasty by itself (the pulled lamb was juicy, and has a very thin spread of cream cheese on it!), and the restaurant offered three small dips: a mild cream-based one (nice); a sweet brown sauce (super tasty and sweet, and Kelantanese folks will love this); and a spicy one (a Western heat rather than Asian “pedas”). The Sellado is essentially an upmarket nasi goreng, but a pretty good one: good balance of flavour, texture, and familiarity.
Sharing the dishes was just nice, and whet up our appetite for more, so we ordered the house specialty dish: the Arroz de Mariscos, a seafood rice dish. They were not stingy with the prawns, squid, and mussels, and the rice was a rich risotto cooked in really good and thick chowder. Absolutely divine flavours – smooth, velvety, creamy, piquant, and delightfully salty and savoury – and definitely deserves its status as the star of the house. A word of warning, though: it’s very rich and decadent, and can easily become too much of a good thing (it was fortunate that there were two of us sharing, although admittedly we did have rather heavy foods before consuming this one). We skipped dessert, because the food was too rich and filling...
Dawn and I had water with the food; Dawn also ordered the Lambda fruit juice, which was pretty good. I, however, had the real find of the evening: the Feliz Cola, which looks and tastes very much like Sprite, but with some spices added to it to elevate the flavour (the addition of cloves makes it feel almost like it was liquid kretek LOL). Very interesting, although not something you would want to drink too much of, lest your mouth starts to smell like Gudang Garam...
Service was pretty decent (some of the staff are a bit obviously new, but that can be improved with time), and the restaurant manager himself – Tyron – looked after us. He’s South African, been in Malaysia less than an annual quarter, and quite easy to talk to, so we were in good and capable hands. All in all, thoroughly recommended if you feel like...
Read moreFeliz Restaurant has quickly become a favorite spot for me, and for good reason! From the very first visit with my wife in early March, we were impressed by the entire experience.
The ambiance is truly special. The restaurant itself has a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, but the real showstopper is the view. Dining with the iconic KLCC tower in the background creates a truly memorable setting.
But Feliz isn't just about the view – the food is the star of the show. They offer a unique and delicious exploration of Peruvian cuisine. The dishes are bursting with flavor, and it's clear the kitchen takes great pride in showcasing the diverse culinary traditions of Peru.
However, what truly elevates Feliz to another level is the exceptional service. The manager and staff were incredibly attentive throughout both of our visits. In early March, it was a romantic dinner with my wife, and the staff ensured the evening was perfect. Then, when I returned with my team at the end of March, they effortlessly accommodated our larger group and ensured everyone had a fantastic experience.
A special shoutout to the manager and the entire waitstaff at Feliz. Their attentiveness and dedication to excellent service are a major part of what makes this restaurant such a gem.

This Peruvian gem, tucked in a mall yet boasting an outdoor seating area with views of the Petronas twin towers, defies expectations. It’s my third visit, and I’ll definitely be back.
The chef curates authentic flavors paired with a touch of creativity. He is super passionate, once we were having sundowners at the bar and he randomly gave us a sample of what he was preparing!
The servers are consistently friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. It’s clear they’re passionate about what they serve.
The décor is thoughtfully designed, and the ambiance on a Saturday night is “dope vibes” without being overwhelming.
Pro-tip 1: Daily happy hour runs from 2pm until 9 PM, offering great value for cocktails and wine. I paid MYR189 for a decent bottle—hard to beat in KL! We also ordered two cocktails for RM68, normal price would be RM95 (RM45 each).
Pro-tip 2: Check out the seasonal menu; they’re currently featuring a fusion Chinese New Year menu alongside their classics, which adds a cool twist for regulars.
What could be better? If you’re seated outside, you’ll need some patience to flag down the staff, as they tend to focus indoors. Also, note that restrooms are shared with the mall—I didn’t visit them, so can’t comment.
If you’re after delicious food, rooftop vibes and value for wine, Feliz is...
