Flaaah The Bakery Cafe - The Gardens Mall — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

Visited Flaaah at The Gardens Mall on July 4th, and it was honestly a very disappointing experience.

My order took over 30 minutes to arrive, and even then, it was only after staff finally came over to check whether we had even ordered — while other customers who arrived later than us were already served. The outlet was not busy at all, so there was no excuse for this delay. It turned out our order was completely forgotten.

This kind of service is extremely unprofessional and careless, especially for a bakery café that presents itself as premium. Even worse, no one noticed until we spoke up.

After I lodged a formal complaint, the management admitted there was a technical issue with their POS system that morning, and offered a small compensation via a platform (Oddle) which I don’t even have an account with. While I appreciate the apology, it doesn’t change the fact that the experience was frustrating and ruined what was supposed to be a pleasant morning.

I hope Flaaah will improve their service and take customer experience more seriously. First impressions matter — and this one...

As I have a fair share of experience in cafés, I had the worst takeaway experience at this cafe. I decided to try the food here out of curiosity, given its high reviews, but I ended up dissatisfied and disgusted. The service was terrible as I saw a fly landing on the food in the open-air when I already purchased the food. I acknowledge that this is unavoidable in the circumstances of the open-air display but at least try to install something to prevent flies from going in and out. It circled around neglected for a few minutes before staff came and shooed it away. I ended up being disgusted and reached out to its Instagram account a few days ago, and they said they would reach out to me again via WhatsApp for some settlement, but they never reached out. 5/5 for the atmosphere! Located in a quiet corner of Gardens Mall, this cafe offers a peaceful, spacious spot perfect for catching up with friends or even getting some work done.

Lemon Meringue Tart: The crust was great, and the topping wasn’t too sweet, but it was a bit too sour for our taste. Palmier Matcha: It was hard to cut, more like a biscuit, but the strong matcha flavor is ideal for matcha lovers. Roasted Mushroom: My friends loved it! It features egg and mushroom. I guess a must-try if you’re ordering savory. Kouign Amann: My favorite! Though the texture was a bit tough when cutting, it’s like a croissant and totally delicious.
