Grand Hisar Turkish Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur offers a warm, comforting taste of Turkey in the heart of the city. The dining room feels welcoming and relaxed, with simple Turkish-inspired décor and comfortable seating — a good spot for both casual dinners and small family gatherings. Service is friendly and attentive; staff are happy to explain dishes and make recommendations.
Food is the highlight. Meze platters are generous and fresh, with creamy hummus, smoky baba ghanoush, tangy ezme and crisp fresh bread. Grilled mains — think lamb shish, adana and chicken kebabs — arrive well-seasoned, juicy and charred in the right places. The pide (Turkish flatbread/pizza) and lahmacun are excellent for sharing, and desserts such as baklava or künefe provide a satisfying sweet finish. Portions are generous and pair well with their ayran and Turkish tea or coffee.
A few practical notes:
• Good value for the quality and portion sizes; expect mid-range prices for KL. • Vegetarian options are available (meze, pide, grilled veggies), but ask staff for suggestions. • If you’re dining on a weekend or with a larger group, it’s wise to reserve a table in advance. • If you have dietary restrictions or need halal confirmation, ask the staff — they’re accommodating.
Overall impression: Grand Hisar is a reliable choice if you’re craving authentic Turkish flavors in KL. Solid food, friendly service and a cozy atmosphere — I’d recommend it for kebab lovers and anyone looking to try traditional...
Read moreThis luxury Turkish restaurant in the heart of Kuala Lumpur city centre offers an authentic Turkish dining experience at surprisingly affordable prices. In fact, many dishes are even cheaper than what you'd pay in Istanbul, yet the taste remains impressively close to the real thing.
The restaurant is run by a Turkish chef and staff, which adds to the genuine atmosphere. The interior is decorated with traditional Turkish elements, including ornate patterns, soft lighting, and warm colors. Turkish music plays gently in the background, making you feel as if you've stepped into a charming spot in Istanbul.
Their cheese pide is a standout. The bread is freshly baked with a crispy edge and a soft center, topped with a generous layer of rich, flavorful cheese. It's comforting, satisfying, and highly recommended.
Another highlight is the kunefe, which is freshly made to order. The crispy layers of shredded pastry perfectly complement the soft, stretchy cheese inside, while the syrup adds just the right amount of sweetness without overpowering the dish. It's rich, balanced, and truly delicious.

-Place looks nice and elegant
-No value for money, the prices are definitely on the higher side, and unfortunately, the food and overall experience didn’t match the high price tag.
-We ordered around eight dishes to try a bit of everything. One thing that stood out straight away; they advertised a “sizzler” on the menu, but it came out on a normal plate, no sizzle, no presentation whish is misleading.
-Taste-wise, the food was a letdown. The chicken breast platter was so salty I had to mix it with my salad just to make it edible.
-Portion sizes were also very small, especially the rice and fried they add in the plate, and for the prices they charge, you expect a lot more.
-They managed to mess up parts of our order, even though there were only two tables in the whole restaurant at the time.
Overall, the food quality is way below many other Turkish places in KL that are not only better but much more reasonably priced.
Service was okay, nothing bad, but nothing great either.
In short: nice setting, but that’s about it. When you charge premium prices, people expect a premium experience. Sadly,...
