Wanted to do dinner at havelly, initially owner promise that hall will be book for the dinner. Paid booking fee, then he delay the dinner discussion to confirm the event flow and had a meeting 1 week before the event. Then mention you have a small crowd so they will be open to customer as well. So when you enter you will see customer first. My crowd was 150. He said 200 only can book the whole hall. Then I told him I would get the 200 people, please give me the whole hall. He said meant 200 and above. He said it is not fair for him cause he will loose business if close shop.
If you want to do dinner make sure you have 250 people and black and white from owner, if not then they will open the restaurant for customers during your event.
Tell cause we are friend, I will give you cheap then act like that. He quote me RM46 per plate. When I change my dinner venue and told my friend, my friend said he quoted them RM35 per plate. He is really pushy and don't listen to what you want. You listen to what he want. Very difficult person to deal with. Took me some time to change my event dinner menu, when I want to change egg sambal to a Vege dish, he said terung sambal. Wth
Never stepping my foot at this place again, food is ok ok. Waiter are rude and make sure get receipt if paying booking fee or anything. Cause he didn't give me even after asking him for so long. 'trust me' I will do your event properly I won't cheat. Hahaha what a joke. Reason he don't give receipt so you can't ask for refund and he can do whatever he want. I let him have my booking fee as a donation and did my dinner at another place. Slightly expensive but at least I get for what I paid and no stress of getting cheated. You will look really cheap doing dinner here when you have random customer at your dinner.
Summary, as a restaurant it is ok but for wedding dinner just go for...
Read moreDining at Havelly in Kuala Lumpur was an absolute delight and easily one of the best Indian dining experiences I’ve had in the city. From the moment we walked in, the ambience stood out — warm lighting, tasteful interiors, and background Punjabi music that set the perfect mood. It felt both authentic and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for families, friends, or even a casual dinner outing.
We tried the garlic naan, butter chicken, chicken tikka, and sweet lassi, and every dish exceeded expectations. The garlic naan was soft, fluffy, and perfectly crisp on the edges, pairing wonderfully with the rich, creamy, and flavorful butter chicken. The chicken tikka was cooked to perfection, tender yet smoky, with just the right amount of spices to bring out its authentic Punjabi taste. To complete the meal, the sweet lassi was refreshing, smooth, and had the right balance of sweetness — a perfect traditional touch that rounded off the experience beautifully.
What stood out the most was the authenticity of flavors. Each dish reminded me of true Punjabi cuisine, with no shortcuts taken in quality or preparation. The service was equally commendable — attentive and polite staff who ensured we had everything we needed without being intrusive.
Overall, Havelly offers not just food, but an experience of Punjab in Kuala Lumpur. With superb dishes, great ambience, and wonderful hospitality, it’s a place I...
Read moreGot a negative vibe moment I entered this place. Looks a bit shady, might be their business is not going well. They have a big place but whole restaurant was empty. I guess I did not see aircons they have ceiling fans. Food is worst part which is supposed to be the only good thing in a restaurant. Paneer was literally rubber. Tasted somewhat different, left it after first bite. Same with Tandoor chicken. I think they prepared by taking frozen chicken just out of the fridge and directly to tandoor. Asked for fresh watermelon juice and waiter did confirm they make out of real watermelons, but when the juice sat in that glass on the table for 5 min, the pulp seperated out and only water was seen below. Waiter was explaining to us that this is how it is, as if we were drinking watermelon juice for first time. Again had to discarded as we had ordered for our toddler. Waiters were busy in other work, hardly had time to look at us waving at them nor listen to our calls. That day they did not accept card saying server issue and only cash accepted. Returned incorrect change asked to check and get full change. I will say avoid this place. Even if u r too hungary get a grab and reach other nearby...
