The food is good. Services are fast as well, even during peak hours, the longest wait would take roughly 15-20 mins.
With Covid-19 and the new normal, this place follows the SOPs and even do take outs now. I'm not so sure about delivery.
Their price, I couldn't compare it with 4-5 years back as I've been coming since young. This "warehouse" looking new location is just right beside the old location. Both are still in business, same food same price. The reason why people prefer this "warehouse" looking location is because of the land area. Parking is easy, it's open air and breezy, many more workers to tend to your orders, more stalls etc..
This place is reasonable, mid-pricing restaurant. A family of 4, depending on what you order can reach up to RM 50-60 of total bill. Their food is stuffed with sufficient amount of meat for it's price per piece.
This meal in the picture here costs RM 60, there were additional orders on top of this.
A recommended place to try Yong...
Read moreI’ve had Yong Tau Foo elsewhere that tasted just as good, if not better, and at a friendlier price point (emphasis on friendlier). After hearing rave reviews about this spot being the go-to for authentic recipes, I decided to bring my family along for a taste test. Sadly, it fell short of the hype. To be clear, the food was decent—good even—but the price per piece felt like a stretch.
Pro-tip: steer clear of the other stall selling “China-style BBQ meat on a stick.” At RM2.20 per skewer (the same as one Yong Tau Foo piece), you’ll be left wondering if they ran out of meat that day (i.e. portion is painfully little per stick)
All in all, RM150+ for seven people got us a modest spread that left no lasting impression, aside from the fried dumpling and fishball, which were admittedly excellent. The rest? Forgettable. This place won’t be making it onto my “revisit” list anytime soon.
P.s. One great thing is the parking spaces were ample. So...
Read morePrice wise - Comparable to Segambut YTF (SYTF) I think 💭. I’ve posted the prices.
Food - the 水饺 doesn’t have prawn & water chestnut but SYTF has. I know fans of this place will prolly tell me (then go to Segambut la). Well, thought I’d give THIS a chance but 🙂↔️. SYTF is the OG - even Ipoh Rd fans can’t deny it ya.
*altho, the best best YTF I’ve had in Malaysia is the Big Tree one in Ipoh.
Fried yong tau foo is crispy as expected. But they don’t cut it up for you.
Chili sauce is spicier than usual just FYI if your parents can’t handle spice anymore.
Soup isn’t great.. very basic and I don’t think they put ikan bills or any authentic stock. Pretty salty.
Convenience - this place has more parking than SYTF but nonetheless both get packed when lunch time comes around 12:30pm onwards due to number of working people patronising this food type.
Ambience - better than SYTF as it’s airy and...
