Good Indian food.
We went here in Nov, but I didn't have time to do the review since then. Finally, I got to review our delicious experience here, though it did have some flaws.
We were recommended to try out their food here because friends were confident in the food served here. Upon arrival during lunch hour, as expected it was packed from front to back.
We managed to find a spot as people left, but then there were leaking from the roof/aircond (I'm not sure), so we had to relocate once again. The tumblers on the table had this awful smell, perhaps not washed properly - I could not even have a drink with it.
Service was fast in taking orders, but food took some time due to the crowd. This was what we ordered, and my honest review:
Mutton & Chicken Biryani The portion was huge. Upon serving, it did have the aroma of a usual biryani. Mutton pieces in it were in average amount, but more bones. For me personally, the rice was a bit on the softer side rather than the biryani where you can pick the rice like grains (if you know what I mean). It was ok in terms of the spices profile.
As for the chicken biryani, the same taste profile with about 4-5 small-medium sized pieces.
Fish Fry Tenggiri fish was fried with something like Chicken 65 marinade, it had the taste of it. Rather dry, but when eaten with the rice is fine.
Chicken Side My apologies as I forgot which chicken side dish that we ordered, but all I remember is that it tasted good and spicy, no complaints about it.
As for drinks, we ordered a few types - they were all average tasting, nothing out of common.
Overall, our experience here was good, though food was on the expensive end. May visit them again to explore the other varieties...
Read moreActually I feel 1 star is also too much for this restaurant. We went around 10.55am. we asked if the lunch is ready and the guy said yes. So we ordered a very simple lunch. Then we waited and waited and waited. Not even the drinks arrived after 30 mins. We thought it's taking time because they are freshly cooking. But then they brought in the side dishes first and it was cold. The chicken dish was clearly not cooked today. Then we saw them serving food for those who just came in and few others who came earlier including us were simply waiting close to 40 mins. They served food without spoon and even they couldn't eat and wait for someone to bring them the spoon. There was only one guy in yellow t-shirt and K cap seem to be running around. The lady at cashier simply standing. Didn't even move. And there were 2 other guys in green shirt and black hat standing still since the time we came till we left. They didn't even bothered to get spoon for the other guests. My husband asked them what happened with our food. Then someone went to check and took another 10 mins to bring it. Except the rice everything else was cold and not fresh. The drinks came towards the end and they forgot to put sugar in my drink. I didn't even bother to ask becoz I know it will also take long. everything tasted below average. No taste so bland. We regret our decision to go there. We simply ate because we were too hungry already. It's extremely slow service, uninterested staff, bad tasting food. Don't waste your time going there.
Ps. Ive added the photo of the 2 guys who were literally standing without doing anything while another guy was running...
Read moreI visited Junior Kuppanna Brickfields branch around 5 times till now. Our favourite was mutton nalli fry which is around 32RM. Last two times, really disappointed with this. I have listed 3 of my concerns on mutton nalli fry which was ordered before 2 months and from my latest visit on Sep-13, 2025. I expected the quality to be improved this time but still same. Listing down the concerns from mutton nalli fry below, #1: Mutton nalli fry portion was very less compared to earlier visits. Though it's understandable that the number of pieces depends on portion, I am very sure that quantity has been reduced. #2: More bone and very less flesh in 2 out of 3 nalli fry pieces served. One piece was good. #3: Quality has reduced and flesh seems uncooked or from old mutton. Please improve the quality, quantity of this dish which was my earlier favourite. We have even reported this to server, manager but they suggested to write here instead of taking any action. Additionally, I have another concern of aatukal paya which is really not the authentic paya. Too thick and flesh had fat, skin covering majority of portion. Hereafter definitely will not order this. Really disappointed. Parotta, Chicken 65, Chicken Chukka was really good and no concerns on those items. Please improve quality of mutton nalli fry and aatukal paya taste. Attached the bill for...
