TERRIFYING BREACH OF PRIVACY AT NU HOTEL KL SENTRAL

I’m still speechless and deeply shocked by what happened during my recent stay at Nu Hotel last week, on 17 July 2025.

Around 5:48 PM, I went down to the hotel lobby to pick up my food delivery. The entire trip — from my room to the lobby and back — took less than 5 minutes. I was staying on Level 4, in Room 415.

As I was walking back and nearly reaching my room (it was around 5.51pm), I noticed a laundry trolley placed outside. To my absolute shock, the door to my room was slightly ajar, held open by the latch. Without hesitation, I entered — and found a housekeeping staff member inside! He appeared to be about to steal my belongings!

The moment I said “Hello!”, he quickly pulled his hand out of my handbag, which I had left on the table, and pretended to be performing housekeeping. He said, “Sorry, I'm just checking your room. Do you need anything, ma’am?” I responded firmly, “No! I don’t need anything!” He rushed out of the room, and I quickly locked the door.

At that moment, I wondered: Can a housekeeper enter a guest's room barely an hour after check-in — especially when the “Do Not Disturb” sign is clearly hung on the doorknob?

I was so shocked I forgot to record the incident and didn’t even catch the man’s name. But I still remember his face vividly.

The entire evening after that, I was too anxious to leave the room. I was even afraid to go to the ironing area near the lift. That night, I barricaded the door with chairs and a heavy box I brought along — I was terrified.

I waited until the morning of 18 July 2025 to file a complaint, as I feared that if I reported it immediately, the guy might become aggressive and return while I was asleep.

It was an extremely unpleasant experience. This wasn’t my first stay at Nu Hotel KL Sentral; my husband and I have always considered it a favorite whenever we travel to Kuala Lumpur.

I sincerely hope the management of Nu Hotel KL Sentral will take this matter seriously and ensure no other guest has to go through a...

Rooms: The rooms at NU Hotel are clean, functional, and well-maintained. While not luxurious, they offer all the essentials—comfortable beds, working air-conditioning, a decent-sized bathroom, and a flat-screen TV. The space is compact, but ideal for short stays or solo/couple travellers. Housekeeping is efficient and ensures rooms are kept tidy. Some rooms may not have windows, so it’s worth confirming this while booking. Service: The staff at NU Hotel are polite, responsive, and helpful. Check-in and check-out are generally smooth. While service is basic, it's reliable—perfect for a budget or mid-range traveller. The front desk is available 24/7, and they’re quick to assist with directions or taxi bookings. There’s no room service or in-house restaurant, but staff can recommend nearby eateries. Location: The biggest advantage of NU Hotel is its unbeatable location. Situated right next to KL Sentral, it offers seamless connectivity to trains, buses, and the airport rail link. It's surrounded by convenience stores, local eateries, and shopping options. Whether you're in transit, here for business, or just want an affordable base in the heart of the city, the location is ideal. Overall: NU Hotel is a great choice for travellers who prioritize location and affordability. It’s not about luxury, but about convenience and comfort. If you’re spending more time exploring the city than staying in your room, this hotel delivers excellent value.

I stayed in Nu Hotel this october, here is my review +: * Location is great, monorel just beside the hotel, KL sentral just a minutes away. There are also seven eleven, kk mini mart and 24hr indian food called abc. * Room is spacious, I stayed in the triple room and it was enough to accommodate 3 people. * The hotel relatively well maintained. -: * I put my dirty cloth on the laundry bag and put it on my desk but they never laundry it. I dont know why * the room was not sound proofed, especially when your room have a connecting door, we barely can hear everything what our neighboor talking. And this was our biggest disappointment with this hotel, during my stay at 513, my next room was very noisy, they playing cards and yelled to each other all night long even until 3am. I already asked the receptionist to shut them off, but it didn't work. I don't get it why your hotel cant do something about it. * We as tourist should pay tourist tax 10RM per person, I think your receptionist should explain about the tax, I've been visiting KL several times I'm quite surprised there such thing called tourist tax now Hope you can solve the soundproof thing and improve your service.

Woke up in the middle of the night because my body was itching severely.Inspected the bed and found to have blood-sucking bedbug.Took video and picture of my body parts that got bitten by bedbug.Called the reception but unfortunately the reception does not understand due to language barrier. Showed him the bed infested bedbug demanded to speak to the manager but was told that he only come in at 7.30am.I am so frustrated as i need to check out at 9am to catch my early train and there is a used diaper under my bed. They did not clean the room thoroughly. This incident is avoided if they do proper cleaning and proper maintenance of the room for the comfort of all guest. I know it’s 2 star hotel but hygiene is as important as well. I have stayed in 1 star hotel but I have never experience this before. This incident make me traumatised and very cautious about checking the bed first before checking in. My trust with hotel in general has been plummet. Updated: The hotel did recovery service by refunded 1 night and bought anti-itch tablet and topical cream.
