San Peng Nasi Lemak, located in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur, is a beloved spot for many nasi lemak enthusiasts. This stall, which has now moved to a shop lot, offers a unique Chinese-style nasi lemak, setting it apart from the traditional Malay version. The place is often crowded, especially on weekends, which speaks to its popularity. However, finding parking can be a challenge, so be prepared for that.
It is known for its variety of dishes. You can choose from curry chicken, sambal, luncheon meat, lap cheong, sausage, sotong sambal and cockles sambal, among others. The coconut rice is fragrant and cooked with pandan leaves, giving it a delightful aroma. The curry chicken is a staple choice that pairs well with the coconut rice. The sambal, however, tends to be on the sweeter side, which might not appeal to those who prefer a spicier kick.
The price can be slightly higher than average, depending on the dishes you choose. A typical plate might cost around RM15.
However, it offers a comforting and hearty meal, perfect for those looking to try a different take on the classic nasi lemak. While the sambal might not be as spicy as some might like, the variety of dishes and the overall flavour make it...

Found this local Nasi Lemak stall by luck 🍀 while we were googling for “Nasi Lemak” at KL area. And to our surprise, the long queue has already started at 6:30pm! So after 30 minutes, we got to our and ordered to our liking 🤩
My plate - Nasi Lemak (rice) , curry potato, chicken , cockles (kerang/siham, fried egg, chopped long bean, anchovies, peanuts & sambal
Hand model @chaboh - Nasi Lemak (rice) , curry potato, spam (luncheon meat) , sausage
With Barley and Herbal Tea = MYR 28 ( USD 6.2) .
Tastewise… we love the curry potato and chicken, it’s very fragrant. Mushy potato and thick gravy to pair with the rice. The cockles is a little salty to our liking and generous in size. The sambal, a little spicy & more to saltiness. Overall we are delighted with the portion, taste, pricing & we shall be back ..😋

Read moreThis is a small coffee shop setup that sells Chinese style nasi lemak. Nothing fancy and this is a typical clean coffee shop setting.
The queue is horrendous and you have to wait for at least half an hour to 45 minutes to get served.
The nasi lemak with chicken drum stick was tasty. The sambal chilly is the sweet dark red type. For the basic nasi lemak you get cucumber and fried peanuts served with the sambal and white rice. The rice is not bad.
The curry chicken was soft and quite tasty.
The chee cheong fun was ok but the sauces are a bit too sweet for my liking. Okay for those liking sweet sauce. The fresh toufu pieces were soft and tasty. The fried toufu skin were not thr best but okay.
There is one person serving and one person collecting money. The queue needn't be this long and slow if the serving process is improved or expanded.
Price wise it is on higher end. A plate of nasi lemak with a piece of chicken drum stick and a fried egg will set you back around RM15.
Parking wise is a night mare and challenging as there are not too many carparks as it is on the main road to Cheras. I would suggest to eat there on...
