I recently visited V88 Cafe and Bar, and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. The entire visit was marred by several issues that I feel compelled to share.
First, the wait times were unacceptable. It took 23 minutes for my coffee and lemonade to be delivered and an additional 35 minutes for a simple slice of cake. This excessive delay is inexcusable for a cafe.
Secondly, the ordering process was extremely inefficient. After queuing to enter, we had to wait to be seated and then queue again to place our orders. This convoluted system wasted a lot of our time and was very frustrating.
Moreover, we had to remind the staff three times about our order. Such poor service is unacceptable and shows a lack of attention to customer needs.
As for the drinks, they were quite disappointing. The lemonade was bland, lacking the refreshing zest one would expect. The coffee, from the perspective of a coffee lover, was sour and unpleasant. On a positive note, the cake was nice, but it wasn't enough to salvage the overall experience.
The outdoor view of the cafe is mediocre at best. In comparison, the neighboring Eslite Cafe offers much better service and a more pleasant exterior.
Overall, my experience at V88 Cafe and Bar was quite negative. I hope the management takes these points into consideration and makes significant improvements.
Suggestions for Improvement
Streamline the Ordering Process: Implement a more efficient system for taking orders. Consider table service where customers can order from their seats or adopt a digital ordering system to reduce wait times.
Reduce Wait Times: Improve kitchen and bar efficiency to ensure drinks and food are delivered promptly. Consider training staff to handle peak times better and optimize workflow.
Improve Staff Responsiveness: Ensure staff are attentive and responsive to customers' needs. Regular training sessions on customer service can help enhance their attentiveness and efficiency.
Enhance the Ambience: Improve the outdoor view and overall ambience of the cafe to make it more appealing. This could include adding plants, better seating arrangements, and ensuring the exterior is well-maintained.
Revamp the Beverage Menu: Address the quality of the drinks. Ensure the lemonade is flavorful and refreshing, and the coffee is brewed to appeal to coffee lovers, avoiding any sour notes. Regular taste tests and customer feedback can help maintain high standards.
Benchmark Against Competitors: Study what Eslite Cafe and other successful cafes are doing right in terms of service and ambience. Implement best practices and continuously seek customer feedback to make necessary...

I have visited this outlet many times due to my frequent work with events located right at the entrance. However, the new menu lacks variation compared to the previous menu.
I ordered the Aglio Olio Mushroom and a homemade lemonade, which cost RM47. The menu indicated the Aglio Olio with only one chili icon, I thought it would be mild. However, it was insanely spicy with green chili, causing numbness in my mouth. Maybe it’s my bad for not understanding menu well enough? or is this spicyness considered the benchmark for a tasty food? I dont know, I thought I ordered aglio olio. The spiciness level should have been indicated with at least three chilis to properly warn customers. This menu update is so disappointing.
The lemonade was good, though slightly overpriced. However, considering the location, view, and convenience, the price is understandable.
Staff wasn’t sharp enough to notice a random guy cut my queue when there was just 2 customers in queue including me, and smiled awkwardly at me and asked me to wait. I don’t expect a 5 star restaurant service, but at least a mamak shop boss will place the food on my table, while the waiter just held the food and waited for me to take from him, while I was single dining.
And we have to go to the counter to order yet we are paying service charge huh🤗
Now I see where the bad reviews are coming from.
Interestingly, the restaurant beside this one is fully occupied. I wonder why that is—perhaps only the owner knows the reason behind it.

Read moreWe were shopping in Starhill Eslite bookstore and passed by this cafe and wanted to get some dessert. We ordered a Tiramisu and plain water as we don't really feel like getting too much of flavours with the dessert. After waited for almost 20mins and nothing is served, it's kinda weird as usually cakes are readymade and will be serve in short waiting, same goes to plain water, I guess maybe they're busy so I just asked one of the waiters is it possible to get us the plain water first if the dessert is not ready yet, then he answered us 'we're running out of taps', and my friend heard the same thing too, so we thought they might not be able to serve us any water so we said it's ok then we continue to wait for our dessert. After waited for another 20 mins and we find it's really weird that the the cake we ordered took so long time to be serve, so we checked with the waiter again, then only he told us all the cakes are sold out, we're like '???' If you're running out of what we ordered, isn't it you should inform us earlier? Also offered the menu and check with us that is there anything we would like to change to? Instead they just stand there and let the customer realise the food is unavailable by ourselves, even the menu only be provide after we requested for it, they just make us waited for so long there without any info, until we find out ourselves, what a...
