📍 Yum Momos @ Empire Damansara
What did one Momo say to another? 😉 ➡️ I’ve got fillings for you ❤️ hehe
Jokes aside, this is the best Momo place I’ve ever visited 😍🥟 Malaysia’s first ever Indo-Chinese Kitchen has finally opened and they specialise in dumplings & more 🤭 Yum Momos brings together the best of South East Asia, combining the aromatic flavors and spices from India with traditional cooking techniques and dishes from China. 🥡🥢 As a dumpling addict, I 💯 approve this place 🤤 You will be as stuffed as their dumplings by the end of your meal 🤰🏻😆
The owner of Thosai Cafe started his new venture and it’s no surprise that it’s a big hit ⭐️ Their menu might only be 2 pages, but in reality there’s over 50 possible combinations of momos alone 😱 Not to mention their variety of Hakka noodles, fried rice & Indo Chinese dishes 😋
Step 1: Choose your filling (vegetarian option: cheese, paneer, sweet corn, mushroom etc // non vege: chicken, prawn, mutton) Step 2: Choose your style of cooking (steamed, pan fried, deep fried, tandoori) Step 3: Bite into your juicy hot dumplings for a mouthful of unadulterated bliss 🫦
What makes them special is that customers are given the opportunity to customise their momos according to their preference 🥹 Some people prefer steamed while others might like it fried, hence Yum Momos cooks it the way you want it 😍 Customer is King here!! 👑
Some of my favourites were the pan fried mutton, chicken oriental kicap (this is their special gravy Momo), and tandoori chicken 😚🥟 All the fillings were well-seasoned with spices such as cumin, coriander, chili powder, and flavor enhancers like soy sauce 👍🏻 The best momos are those that have a perfectly thin and delicate outer layer, with a moist and flavorful filling that is cooked to perfection, and that’s what you get over here 😍 The tandoori version was my favourite because of the spicy red marinade which coated the deep fried momos making it so addictive 🌶️ Pair it with mayo for an added touch of creaminess and soothing effect. The outer layer of the momo was thin and supple, with just the right amount of elasticity to hold the filling without tearing or becoming too thick. The steamed version is also slightly translucent, revealing the savory filling inside. 👏🏻
While momos are the highlight here, their Hakka Noodles and Fried Rice doesn’t fall short either 🙌🏻 I tried the egg fried rice & chicken hakka noodles and they were undoubtedly the best! 🔥 I highly recommend their Hakka Noodles which are stir-fried with vegetables such as cabbage, carrots, bell peppers, and onions, and flavored with soy sauce, vinegar, and chili sauce. It also had a spicy kick to it from the hot bell peppers 🫑🥵
Some main dishes that are worth trying include the honey chilli potato, gobi manchurian (my fav) & chilli chicken 🤩 They all taste similar but different at the same time 😂 There’s a secret ingredient in every dish for that subtle difference in flavour. Their dishes bolster a bold and flavorful taste, and it is a popular choice for those who enjoy Chinese-inspired cuisine. 🇨🇳 The dishes are savory and slightly sweet with a tangy, umami taste; thick and sticky texture; and ofc visually appealing (Striking Red 💋)

Read moreLet me get started, It's a Sunday morning Your friend has told you their is a new momo shop in town, So we packed our wallets (lol) went their to enjoy some and found a board outside which clearly said
"Grand Opening, Free Momos on 2nd & 3rd Sep '23, 2 momos per person on Dine-in" ( pic attached)
FYI we went on the 3rd sep morning 11:30 AM
So we went inside and obviously asked about the promo mentioned on the board outside to which he replied by saying it was only for 2nd and then we said it's mentioned outside 2nd and 3rd he made a face which we all know the Great sarcastic you are poor face to us and then said we can give you veg momos to taste and then we said we want the chicken one to taste and he said promo is for veg only buy we said it's not mentioned on the board outside that it is for veg or Non veg then he again made a face and for 2 MOMOS HE TOLD US : LET ME CHECK WITH MY OWNER ( are you serious ? You shouldn't be in food industry if you don't have the heart of honouring the promo that you have as per the customer) and then we ask that if we order 2 plate chicken momos would be able to add 2 momos in that ( with a smile on our face ) to which we were denied
So we said okay boss no worries if you don't want to entertain us we may leave then And he said OK So eventually the BUSINESS IS LOST OF RM75 when the entire restaurant was empty So owner and people who want to visit kindly note and please improvise before your newly opened business gets...
Read moreI am quite disappointed by the services & quality of food served here….For food packaging they charge “Take Away Fee” along with the “Service Charge of 10%” on take away orders .. they charge 1 RM extra for every plate packed in a paper or plastic box. I have not seen any other restaurant charging “Take Away Fee” who also use eco friendly packaging as an additional cost to the bill .. paying such amount is not an issue but this is not ethical..food wise I will not recommend anything except for momo. Other food items quality is not good… I have even complained that the Chicken Hakka noodles which I got packed had left over French fries in it & was even stale..( picture attached below)..I never ordered any French fries .. they covered up for that too..And it’s a wrong justification given by you below as I had got the food packed & it was not the leftovers after Dine In ..as I alone cannot eat 3 plate Momos and 1 plate noodles .. had gone to pick up the food .. So I will not accept that reason! It was definitely not the left over food but was food ordered to be packed for takeaway ! Also they charge this amount only to some customers! It’s not a uniform practice for all who picks up packed food at the restaurant .. they do it randomly to people which is highly unprofessional and...
