Restoran Congee Rice Noodles — Restaurant in Malacca

Food was delicious especially their special pork ribs and superior noodles. Service can be improved especially one indian guy waiter, chinese elderly smaller built lady and chinese guy waiter who gave the bill not so friendly giving you uncomfortable stare no smile or greeting overall some staff are friendly some are not so friendly the service from the chinese lady captain was not so friendly unwelcoming vibes the restaurant is okay with oldies music we bought the nyonya chang recently was not fresh already kept too long just for the feedback and future improvement thank you Note to Congee Rice came with my parents today the chinese lady captain was not so friendly giving uncomfortable unfriendly stare should give greeting to customers so that they feel welcomed or say thank you come again when customers leaving the restaurant just for your feedback Note to congee : recently gave feedback on the chinese lady with specs and they created a group on whatsapp then remove you it's rather rude no apologies given was just giving customer feedback for improvement wouldn't recommend to go here next time cuz of unfriendly unwelcoming service and pricey too might as well go to zhong tai or thong seng restaurant service is...

I normally don't give negative reviews but decided to post this review. Came here for dinner on 17th May based on good reviews. However I was disappointed 😞.

1. Food wise - Vinegar pork leg, Kailan with Meichai, Pumpkin with toufu etc were nice.
2. Hotpot fish head soup was a real disappointment - Large for RM90 was expensive, ie same price as Spore. I was shock that it is not a hotpot. They came in 10 small bowls. The fish are all bones and no meat at all and the soup was salty.

During payment at counter, I asked the waitress why the Hotpot Fish head was not a big pot, she said it is too heavy to carry to the table for 10 persons. So they just distributed inside and carry 10 small soup bowls to us. Then I asked that they should let us see the big Hotpot before distribution but she said they will just do the distribution into 10 small bowls.

Then I asked if we order the premium seafood porridge hotpot at RM360 for 10 paxs will it be too heavy to carry to the table, she said it will also be distribute into 10 bowls. Luckily we did not order this because we need to wait for 30 mins and decided not to order. Otherwise 1 bowl, not sure how big...

We had our late lunch at this restaurant today, just after it opened at 3pm. This was our first visit and we were happy to find somewhere air-conditioned, where we could eat in comfort shielded from the scorching heat outside. The prices of the dishes here are slightly more pricy than what we can find in the vicinity, but still reasonable as the portions are sizable.

We ordered 6 dishes in total: Marmite Chicken (Rating: 8/10 a bit too much sauce), Cereal Prawns (8/10 not enough cereal), Kum Heong Lala (9/10 flavourful with good balance of spices), Gong Bao Frog Legs (8/10), Signature Toufu (8/10 simple but well executed), Seaweed Soup (7/10, decent but not outstanding).

There were so many other dishes we wanted to order, the food photos looked so tasty, but I guess we would have to come back another day to try.

All in all, we think this is a great find. There is something here for everyone. Our kids were all raving about their respective dishes and they asked...
