Came in at 8am on a Saturday. Crowds starts pouring in after about 10mins.
Variety of food options. Tastes similar standard to Oriental Kopi. I like that they have a simple taufufa option. Their curry is good too. About 20% of their menu was labeled “sold out”.
Been here a couple times but never tried their paper baked chicken. Decided to try today. Placed order at 8:07am. Waited till 8:37am but it was still pending. Requested from a waiter.. he just smiled, gestured with a hand signal to wait (I assumed) and went away without following up.
We had somewhere to be so can’t wait any longer. Made payment at the counter and cancelled the pending order. The supervisor/manager in charge was informed of our delayed order, to which she replied that usually this order has a 15min wait to prepare, and because of influx in order, it was late.
So is it to say that my order can be delayed even if I ordered first? If there were to have more customers coming in.. will my order be pushed further and further down the line because “it was hard to prepare”?
I guess what I’m saying is, if you can’t handle the crowd and the influx in order during peak hours… only allow certain menu options for breakfast.
Delaying hungry customers’ requests is just going to be bad reputation.
Also.. the place has a lot of mosquitoes even though it is...
Read moreTea Garden—Not What I Expected . I always thought Tea Garden was just another boba shop. Turns out, it’s a café serving a mix of local fusion dishes. . I kept it simple this round: Hainanese Tea (RM3.90) Toast (RM3.90) . It was okay. Nothing special yet—but maybe I need to explore the menu more. . Room for improvement: Their ordering system needs an update. I wanted less sugar in my tea, but there was no option to leave a comment. Most F&B systems already have this. Surprising that a brand like Tea Garden still runs on such a limited setup. . Also, when guests are enjoying their tea, it’s best not to sweep too close to their table. I get it—staff are just doing their job, probably afraid of complaints or being seen as idle. But this is a small detail that management can handle better behind the scenes. . Will I return? Yes—curious to see what else they offer. . Will I recommend it? Not yet. Maybe I’ll bring some friends next time and try a few more dishes together for a better feel. . . Follow me for more bites worth waking up for—especially if you're into local eats and hidden...
Read moreTerrible service. The Chinese woman, who I believe is the lady boss, was completely unprofessional. When I arrived, a Malay staff member asked me to write down my name for the queue. But the Chinese woman kept holding onto the name list, which affected the staff’s ability to handle new customers.
But after that, they messed up and removed my name from the list after 15 minutes. The reason they gave was that they thought we were with another group of customers. They promised to arrange a table for us immediately, but we ended up waiting another 20 minutes. Meanwhile, all the new customers had already been seated while we were still waiting outside.
When the Chinese woman came by, I asked if the table near the entrance could accommodate us. She said it only fit three people, but in reality, it was big enough for four. We were a group of four adults with a baby in a stroller. Her concern was that we might order too much food and the table wouldn’t have enough space, which is just ridiculous.
Honestly, the service was absolute nonsense, and the Chinese woman clearly doesn’t know how to manage things. It was a...
