Rumah Belanda (Jalan Kota, Melaka) — Restaurant in Malacca

I recently brought my tour group to Rumah Belanda in Malacca for lunch, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. Housed in a beautifully preserved heritage building, the restaurant’s charming interior truly reflects the rich history of Malacca, giving our guests an authentic and nostalgic feel.

The service provided by the staff was tremendous — warm, welcoming, and very attentive to our group’s needs. Every request was met with a smile, and they made sure our experience was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish.

As for the food — simply delicious! The dishes were full of flavour, well-presented, and clearly prepared with care. Both local and international palates in our group were satisfied, with many commenting on how tasty and memorable the meal was.

Came here because saw nice reviews. Definitely a one time thing for me and my family. We were the only one at the time before few others came but our food took a long time to reach. Most of what we ordered were “easily” prepared meals like bihun sup and asam pedas which arent food that needed to be made from scratch. Was excited to order cucur because saw it on their social media but when we arrived the waiter told us it was only available for breakfast. They should have mentioned that on their website/socmed. We sat at the second floor but there was no call bell for us to easily reach the waiters. One of our drinks never arrived so i guess theres some room for improvement regarding the food check....

The environment at Rumah Belanda is really nice and comfortable, a great place to relax and dine. However, I was a bit disappointed with the food experience. By the time the food arrived, it was slightly cold and I didn't get to enjoy the dishes while they were hot. The waiting time for the food was also longer than expected, around 20 to 30 minutes. While the prices are affordable, I think there’s room for improvement in managing the preparation time of the dishes.
