We are in Ipoh for only two days and we wanted to get dinner a little ways away from the main tourist area. We wandered down towards little India area where there was so much amazing sights to take in. We've had a lot of traditional Malay food and wanted to experience a little authentic taste of Indian/Malay cuisine. We wandered in and we were greeted with a professional and friendly hostess. Even though we were quite unfamiliar with the food choices we knew we wanted some Roti Canai (Indian flatbread) that the region is known for. It was delicious! It was served with 3 different curry sauces and the flavors were outstanding. After the Roti Canai as an appetizer, we enjoyed some "vegetarian" Nasi Lemak. We were a little surprised that "vegetarian" only means "the sauce without any meats" rather than having vegetables as a replacement to meat. No worries though, I'm sure if we could speak Malay we could have clarified what the dish actually was. Regardless, it was delicious food, the sauce flavor was complex and the meal served hot. Read moreThe food is decent. I love their fish curry, I would say the best in Ipoh. The mix rice is good. The vaalaka bajji had too much batter than vaaalaka. Please make some changes on it. BTW I had a bad experience with the ordering system the last time I visited.
I ordered 1 Egg Thosai and 1 Podi thosai for my gf. First, i was told Podi thosai is not available. No biggie, I switched it to Onion Thosai. After a while, the waiter brought me my Egg thosai and said thosai batter is no more, so they couldn't make any more thosai. They suggested my gf , poori with potato. So we ordered that instead.
After a while, her poori was delivered, and it tasted so-and-so. Additionally, the potato was too sweet. Then, a while later, we saw them delivering thosai to other tables. When we questioned them, they replied, "Now we have batter." Both me and my gf were upset with their answer and service, thus we decided to never to go back.
As much as I like their fish curry, satisfying service is what will keep...
Read moreI visited this place for lunch today with my family, and unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience. While we were enjoying our meal, we saw a large rat on the table where the nasi lemak container had just been placed. It was quite alarming, especially since we noticed a few rat traps around the area.
Considering the potential health and cleanliness concerns, I believe this issue needs to be addressed urgently. I hope the management takes immediate action to ensure that such incidents do not happen again, as customer safety and hygiene should be a top priority.
I was really disappointed by this experience and hope the shop improves its standards...
