I don't usually write bad reviews. However, this place was a big disappointment by some margin. I'll start with the positives. The venue itself is lovely. Big and spacious, tall ceilings, good decor, nice layout. Balcony where you can look out over KL is really beautiful. The cocktails were super tasty and innovative. Now onto the bad. We had booked for an anniversary. We'd requested a window table because of the views. We were told they were all reserved. Yet we sat and looked at an empty table by the window the whole time we were seated somewhere else. 2 hours the window table sat empty. That alone seems a bit silly given it was why we’d booked here. Every 5 minutes they played some cheesy birthday music and lacklustrely brought a cake to different tables with a candle in it. I think there was 10 in 2 hours. I'm not a miserable person, but not 1 person could have enjoyed how their dessert was presented to them. The food was not worth what we paid for it. I had steak, which looked like the limpest steak I'd ever eaten, and wedges. Now, I can 100% confirm that these wedges were frozen, oven-cooked wedges. 120 RM for badly cooked steak and oven cooked wedges is crazy. The dessert (brownie) was nice, but it was clear the ice cream had defrosted and frozen again as it was very watery (and the portion was tiny). Oh, and half the menu wasn’t available, but we only found that out by requesting dishes one by one to be told ‘we don’t have that one either’. I also discovered there was a set menu we weren’t told about.
Fine dining, this is not. I’d go as far to say it’s not even low-end dining, I’ve had much better meals and service in a Mamak.
The staff on duty made it feel like it was a chore coming to your table. Probably the most lacklustre dining experience I've ever had. 500 RM for two meal. You can find places 1,000,000% better for that money in KL, I...
Read moreThis is the worst restaurant ever. Not sure whether it’s the owner who attend us during that time. So my gf called in to book a table for the 2 of us 2 weeks prior. They didn’t said anything and just proceed with the reservation.
2 weeks later we come to the place getting psyched and excited. We came in and we actually having trouble finding the place. After around 30mins which no one attended us we just randomly asked a waiter where is “Signature by The Roof”? The waiter responded that the already chance place and name. Change to JIO @ Roof. We was thinking of having a nice and quite dinner together but instead the place changed to a Bar which was loud and unpleasant.
But wait, there’s more. The lady that attended us said that there’s no reservation under my gf name. Looks like the don’t care for any reservation since the place was packed because it is a bar. They didn’t even offer us any complimentary dish or anything. They just apologized like it’s nothing big of a deal for them.
So as a conclusion, I wouldn’t recommend the place to anyone. The place not as spacious as advertised because they already changed to a smaller and uncomfortable space. My gf reserved the place to celebrate my birthday, I didn’t mind but it was really heartbreaking seeing her trying so hard to arranged all of this but the restaurant ruined it. Thanks for the...
Read moreI was here 3 years ago and had a very good experience. Recently, I was here again for another special celebration. Prices have expectedly increased significantly but what was unexpected is that the food quality has dropped.
I ordered the same thing that I did previously, chicken Cordon Bleu. While it still came with the chicken and a side of mash potatoes, the dish looked different. I wasn't sure when the food arrived but when I checked my old photos, it was definitely different. It used to have a nice side of grilled vegetables that included zucchini but now it came with a few pieces of broccoli that were unevenly cooked. The chicken also tasted a little too dry this time.
My wife's fish and chips looked very average, no different from most "Western food" outlets. The tartare sauce was just plain mayonnaise with barely a hint of lemon juice. No pickles or dill or any herbs.
The only saving grace is that the views are still magnificent. Come here a little early for dinner and you get to watch the city go from dusk to night...
