Richeese Factory One Utama — Restaurant in Petaling Jaya

I tried eating here with my brother recently just to check what's the hype is all about. My brother have eaten here before, he said the spicy level is quite spicy, so try not to order any spice, just normal original chicken. So we ordered whole fried chicken combo with mashed potatoes and coleslaw, no spicy stuff, beef burgers too and wedges.

Verdict? The fried chicken was freshly cooked because we ordered whole chicken, so they had to only fry it after ordering it. Taste wise, it was okay, I mean it doesn't have a lot of flavors, just normal average chicken taste. I think KFC still champion in the chicken taste. But one thing I agree with most people is their mashed potatoes. It's really good. The gravy is like mushroom soup kind of gravy, very nice 👍 coleslaw was ok too. The beef burger was tasty but just wished it was served hot. Mine was quite cold.

Service wise, staff were friendly and good in explaining what they have. But there were lots of waiting for your order too. Their service of cooking, preparing, readily serve you the food takes time like 15-20 mins, maybe even 30 mins depending what you ordered. Seating wise, there's a big space with lots of tables and chairs but it can be filled up quick if its peak hours. So that's the only cons I can think of.

Overall, it was a nice dinner meal for the first try. Don't know if I would come again...

I visited Richeese Factory One Utama just now on 13 April 2025 around 7:10 PM. I approached the counter and politely asked the staff if it was for cash payment. She ignored me completely the first time. I had to ask again before she finally replied “yes.” However, after that, she did not attend to us at all and continued to focus only on kiosk orders.

When we followed up again, she simply told us to use the kiosk if we wanted faster service, we were clearly at the counter, obviously intending to pay by cash. She showed no effort to assist, communicate properly, or serve us, we were completely dismissed without reason. In the end, we felt so unwelcomed and disrespected that we just walked away!!!!

The staff in question was a Malay woman, slightly overweight, working at the counter at that time. Her attitude was unacceptable and unprofessional. As a paying customer, I do not expect special treatment, but I do expect basic courtesy and fair service. Ignoring customers and refusing to serve them is simply not acceptable in any business setting.

I hope Richeese Factory takes this seriously and addresses this kind of behavior. It leaves a very negative impression and reflects poorly...

The place is between Secret Recipe and Park's Bagel. You can choose between the regular or fire fried chicken. I recommend the fire ones. Fire fried chicken is coated with spicy bbq sauce which you can choose the spice level from 0 to 5. Also comes with cheese sauce, I suggest you dip the chicken into it. Maybe you'll like it. The chicken itself is juicy. Combo meal comes with a choice of sirap bandung/mango tea. Soft drinks are available with extra charge. The beef burger is pretty good as well. Patty is not dry.

Side dishes: Mashed potato: 2/5. Gravy is more like white soup and not to my personal liking. Coleslaw; 1.5/5 not too good for me. Fries: 4.5/5. Very good. They're fried to order. Cheesy soup: 0.5/5 it is too salty for me but try if you'd like to.

Price: Similar to other fast food pricing. Service: Pretty fast despite the long line. Huge seating area so no worries if you come in a big group.
