As far as Thai food goes, I've been to quite a few here or there. As such not to say I'm a novice to Thai food. Essentially, they're but not the same as viet food and taste. Which brings me to Absolute Thai at a shopping mall in Damansara utama. Wasn't at all hungry then but since my boy and wife were famish with all those walking about, we decided to drop in at this place after my daughter has given her thumbs up for this place for its tastes. The 1st we ordered was the quintessential seafood Tom. Yam and a veggi dish, then the necessary pandang chicken, a plate of fried lala and finally their fried omellete with pawns. To me if that Tom yam hits us well then the rest should be pretty okay Their seafood soup came in the middle and after tasting, the soup has a superior quality far better then most, it was rich and lots of unami with it. It was shockingly good over what I had before. The rest of the dishes didn't disappoint us either. And most of all the rice was not the generic local version but thai fragrant rice It was my 2nd time there and they managed to kept up to their standards suffice they has not failed me yet. Hence they deserved my giving them a 4 stars rating after finishing we paid and departed The service was attentive and with a smile! Do recommend to give them a try, even if it was just for the Tom yam soup. It wasn't cheap overall but their quality was certainly there. A more refine version of the ordinary thai Street food that suits my taste. Note worthy their pandang chicken wasn't the best that I have had. The best I had was at Sri siam at SS2 which is no...
Read moreExpressing gratitude once again to the staff of the Absolute Thai restaurant at One Utama over a pick up incident on the 11th of August. They were extremely kind and professional to have planned to drop off my ordered food to an incredibly irresponsible and deceiving Lalamove rider (I have lodged a report on the conduct of this rider to Lalamove since) just below the restaurant, only to have him lingering around the opposite OU building, saying he was where he was supposed to, waiting, yet no staff came to him, when he clearly wasn’t neither did he take the initiative to approach the staff. They were considerate enough to empathise with my situation and bring the ordered food back up to the restaurant for me to retrieve it over an hour and 30* minutes later, with hot rice. I am extremely grateful given the commute to OU took up unplanned time, not to mention the antics of the rider which led to massive disappointment but my food which was the sunny side up sliced basil beef and red base seafood tom yum was delicious as the Absolute Thai Gardens outlet.
Many thanks once again for the stellar customer service displayed, and of course the Malaysian hospitality...
Read moreWhy 3 stars? Didn't clean table properly and gave menu's to order food. I had to request them to wipe it for us. Prices as the norm, have been increased with inflation, however the increase in price has deteriorated the quality of the food. When server brought the food, it was dripping outside the plates. The rice we ordered were brought with other plates, and the bottom of the other plates had squished the top of the rice plates meaning that the rice were in contact with bottom area of the plates that were inside the kitchen. Tom Yam sea food soup was not served hot. I mean it's coming from a prepared pot, least can make it hot before serving would be good. The mango salad has little amount of mango, a bread like thing with a lettuce leaf is used to make the dish presentation look fancy, to compensate for the lack of the mango. And it doesn't taste like how a mango salad is supposed to. Thai green curry is actually great.10/10 the only W from this restaurant experience. The cashew chicken was good la.
Overall, huge L experience. only W was the...
