The place isn't really as good as it was the last time I went there.
This time around the area was not as clean as it was about a year ago. The floors near the couches were a little sticky as I could feel my shoes sticking to the floor.
The 2nd thing I dislike about the place is the food. The sauce in the scallops isn't well mixed. And it was a little too salty. You could definetly tell that almost all of the ingredients that they used in the sauce isn't fresh. Mostly powdered.
The rice quality was dismal. Too dry and grainy. A better grain would have been better like Japanese rice. That would compliment the sauce in a good way. Since the Japanese rice is very well paired with sea food and I know for a fact that it would be way better tasting as I used to be a chef.
The toilets could be better. The sinks need to have a tap to regulate the water. It goes everywhere and splashes. Not good when you have hands that look like you've killed an alien. Better quality soap is needed because it took 3 washes b4 the oil was washed off my hands.
The customer service here is excellent. They go around to help you break those problematic shells.
All in all. I would still come here again as it's a good experience. A really good place to go with...
Read moreFew days ago, I went there for the first time with my partner for valentine as I heard "it is good" where a lot of people dine in there.
Well, it turns out the food was terribly bad. It doesn't deserve a single star. I love eating seafood A LOT. This restaurant was a disappointment. King crab leg 600grams for RM188 and lobster was RM200++. The food was over cook, rubbery and difficult to chew. It took them 2 hours to cook. I almost die in gastric as I've waited for hours. Also the sauce... IT'S DISGUSTING. How can you say it's a creamy butter sauce and it doesn't look like 1? EW? It taste like IndonMee sauce instead and contained a lot of Ajinomoto. The sauce contained more oil than the sauce itself. I feel very disgusted. My abdominal was in pain and had headaches due to the food. With other orders we had, it cost us RM400++. They also missed out our some of our orders and also a lot of things are not available (maybe because of MCO, they want to save cost?). Sadly, the only thing that is properly cook is the RICE.
Disaster.
Once and NEVER return. ALL FOOD NOT FRESH and NOT...
Read moreBought mine through grabfood. This is my first time trying shellout from the original shellout restaurant. I bought the Grab Your Catch Set 2 - Comes with crawfish, scallops, octopus, brocolli, sweet corn, potatoes and I add on green mussels. I chose the Shell Bang Sauce and OMG spicy level. My opinion, the sauce was too overwhelming and salty that it overpowers the seafood's taste. The sauce reminds me of one of the Maggie instant noodles seasoning. And the OMG spicy level is not that spicy. I can see a lot of chilly in the sauce but its not that spicy. As for the price, I paid over RM 300. It comes with two drinks, coconut jelly and chicken wings. Chicken wings was okay. Overall opinion, I tasted better shellout from other restaurants with much lower price. The price does not exceeds my expectations. The octopus was small baby octopus, not the big ones. The quantity is okay. A lot leftovers for 2 people. But because of the saltiness, we cannot eat much more. Would i repeat? Honestly no. Theres plenty of other restaurants that can provide better taste with much...
