I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bla Bla Bla, and I must say, the dishes exceeded my expectations in every way. From traditional favorites to innovative creations, each dish showcased the rich flavors and culinary expertise.
The Mango Duck was a delightful fusion of tender duck meat and tangy mango sauce, creating a perfect balance of sweetness and savory richness. It was a refreshing departure from the usual duck dishes and left a lasting impression.
The Pandan Chicken was a true highlight, with its fragrant pandan leaves wrapping succulent chicken pieces marinated in a flavorful blend of herbs and spices. Each bite was bursting with aromatic goodness, making it a must-try for any visitor.
For those craving something exotic, the Pineapple Fried Rice was a revelation. Juicy pineapple chunks combined with fragrant rice, succulent shrimp, and crunchy cashews to create a symphony of flavors and textures that danced on the palate.
The Sea Cucumber Soup was a comforting and nourishing dish, with its delicate broth infused with the essence of the sea. Tender sea cucumber slices added a unique texture, while fresh herbs and spices elevated the soup to new heights of flavor.
I could only capture photos of two dishes. Overall, the dishes at Bla Bla Bla not only satisfied my cravings for authentic cuisine but also left me eager to return for more culinary adventures. Whether you're a seasoned foodie or new to Malaysian cuisine, Bla Bla Bla is a must-visit...
Read moreWe had originally intended to eat at a nearby Thai restaurant only to discover upon arrival that it was permanently closed. Bla Bla Bla was virtually next door and based on typically good reviews we decided to eat here instead.
Access to the restaurant upstairs is via a number of paving slabs set over water, ahead of the stairs.
The layout of the restaurant is relatively simple, but airy thanks to the airconditioning. Various alcoholic beverages feature on a very extensive menu that offers all manner of Asian fusion food.
We ordered the black pepper beef, Thai style crispy chicken with mango, and a midin salad. The first observation about the portion sizes is that they are quite large. We probably could have ordered just the one main course between us as we struggled to eat everything that was brought out. The black pepper beef had an intense, but not overwhelming, flavour and the beef was tender. The chicken dish had quite a chilli kick to it that was moderated by the mango, and this combination worked well.
The overall price of the meal was somewhat higher than in similar restaurants in Kuching, but this was probably more a reflection of the quite large...
Read moreMy experience was very negative and I do not recommend at all this place! Recommended by my travel agent with “one of my favourite places in Kutching” so I tried it out! Well they didn’t seem very friendly when I arrived, as if I was disturbing, anyway I gave it a try, you pass steps on a little water strip and go upstairs, choose the table by yourself and read the menu, it was a good 10 minutes before the waiter arrived, I said I was vegetarian so ordered fried rice with vegetables and their speciality which was, what seemed like fried seaweed, it was good but a shame there was a grated chicken on top 😡😡 I said I was vegetarian! So I ate practically white rice with some veg! I had finished for quite a while but the waiter was just sitting at the end of the room playing on his electronic device, i beckoned several times to no avail so in the end went to him! Now on the menu there were several deserts but when I asked he said there was only fruit! He said there is crembrulee next door which he would bring, he was absent for another 10 minutes only to return with “they don’t have anymore” talk about negative...
