📍Sunset Terrace Sunway really like to shows their “achievement”, but where is the service training standard?
Visited number of times for dinner here, Ala carte, not buffet. The staff surprised us AGAIN!
He ordered Salmon salad, requested don’t want the “charcoal” hard beef bacon, and I order chicken burger. But then the waiter asked me, do I want well done or medium… I mean what? I repeated I want chicken burger, and he also repeated the question. WELL DONE please if you really want to know should my chicken burger be fully cook or not 🙄
Then he asked what we want to drink, we said just some drinking water, then he asked what water we want, (pointed to us on the drink menu), NO, we just want some drinking water to our glasses that on the table. Then he said to us, “oh, that only serve to the buffer guest”….. Right!! Can you ask your manager, that we, the guests not having buffet, so we can not have FREE drinking water?? At least he clever enough to walk away to get us the FOOKING drinking water!!!! #fiv5starHOTEL ?
5-10 minutes later, the salad served, BUT where is the salmon? Have to get the staff, and sort it out. Fine, no problem get salmon onto the salad quite quickly. BUT…..
Where is my chicken burger? I have been waited over 20mins after the salad served! #five5tarHOTEL?
When finally my chicken burger served, (almost 30mins we ordered) yeah, I was angry and hungry, I asked the same staff, why took it so long?! You know, We don’t believe what his respond at all!!!
He said, because I asked for WELL DONE chicken burger!!! I mean….. #5starHOTEL customer service is like that ga? Do I really look that dumb, did not realise I order the well DONE????? Chicken burger?? So I need to wait longer????
UNBELIEVABLE 🙄
Seems like every time we have our meal there, it must have at least 1 #servicing issue...
Read moreThis is the fanciest buffet I've experienced to date. The money making part of this buffet is definitely the seafood. There were raw oysters, prawn, scallop, mussels and sashimi. The prawn was really fresh and sweet. This was my first time trying raw oysters and it was great super fresh no irony taste whatsoever. The sashimi was decent. They had a pretty big selection of food like a dim sum, pasta bar, salmon wellington, lamb, seafood bakar, pizza, sushi, butter chicken, cheese etc. They even had a kids area with donuts, chocolate fountain, nugget and more. There was a good assortment of desserts. The blueberry crumble was too sweet for my liking and there was no sour or tartness to it just sweet, I think they used frozen blueberries or maybe it was some sort of jam. The macarons and tarts were decent. The taufufa was not it, it tasted like normal tofu and it was not smooth. The soft serve was alright not the creamy type more of the watery type. The agar agar santan gula melaka and the pandan pudding was okay but the cheesecake was really dense. The gnocchi carbonara was great I really enjoyed the carbonara sauce but I realised I'm not a big fan of gnocchi but hey at least I tried. The Indian food was alright and the salmon wellington was also okay but I feel the pastry was a little undone and the salmon was a little overcooked. Honestly it's a buffet with a huge variety of everything but the taste was just okok there wasn't anything that had me raving about it. On another note the service was impeccable and the staff were all on standby to change your plate or top up your beverage once you finished. Overall not a place I would return to unless I'm feeling like chowing down a huge load of seafood but definitely a place that's at least...
Read moreDecent food and decent staff. Came for lunch with my wife after a weekend stay at the Villa. We had room service from the same restaurant menu and had a great experience with that so thought to go and try it straight from the restaurant. The food we chose was from the Western menu and were quite disappointed at the quality after having a good experience with the in room dining. The pizza we ordered was alright but the issue was with the prawn pasta which smelled like the prawns were expired and textured like mash potatoes which was unsettling. Upon finally getting a staff to help clear the plate, I informed them to please share our concern with the kitchen and floor manager. A supervisor later came back and informed us that a new prawn pasta is being made. My wife and I did not want a remake or even a refund but a new dish perhaps as we weren’t certain in the quality of the prawns though the staff informed us that there is nothing else that could be done other than just taking the remake of the dish which felt uncomfortable.
Our issue was finally resolved with the Rest. Manager, Adam, who was very kind in helping us. Overall I can’t say it was a terrible experience but do see the value in the restaurant is more so the buffet and not the a la carte menu. Will try to dine again soon to see have a better feel for the restaurant quality as we did really enjoy everything else...
