So I took my folks & went to this place coz I know they’re known for their waffles. When we arrived, we were told that it was a full house and the wait time would be 30-40 mins. Gave my number & said we’d come back when there was a table available. Within 5 mins after we walked away from that place we got a call saying there was a table. So we walked back. Appreciate the call but don’t you guys check before telling someone that their wait time is 30-40 mins? Sat down, scanned the QR code and realised we couldn’t order waffles. Asked the wait staff & was told that the waffle machine had BROKEN DOWN and was not working because the plate was loose so they weren’t making waffles at the moment. This is what I was told. So okay since we were there already & super hungry, we ordered whatever else was on the menu. I happened to turn towards the cake chiller & saw that WAFFLES WERE STILL BEING MADE! So I walked up to the counter and asked them why they’re still making waffles when they told me that the machine wasn’t working? They turned around and said no, they never said it wasn’t working but that due to a problem with the machine, orders would be late. I was, needless to say, furious. Not because of the time it would take for my to get my order, but because I was LIED to. If they had told me from the beginning that yes they were still making waffles, however there would be a longer wait as the machine wasn’t working as well as usual, I would have waited. But you tell me it’s not working, and I see you making waffles, and when I ask what’s going on, you have the audacity to say you never told me it’s not working? I don’t need to give my money to a place that does not know how to communicate with their customers. Idk how you guys are trained before you start working, but always remember to be TRUTHFUL and learn how to properly phrase your words and sentences when talking to your customers. I will NOT...
Read moreHeyo Solarance here ^^ been a while since my last update.. sorry been busy 😂😂
Anyways this time I tried out The Owls Cafe… honestly I think I tried it when I was eating it at The One City but then they moved here in Sunway~ soooo let me do the reviews real quick
1- So as a starter, we ordered the fries and wow it’s really crunchy and flavourful. I was suppose to be full from a late lunch but wow I couldn’t stop munching on it.. well done on the flavour 😂😂 5/5
2- We also ordered the berry waffles… honestly I don’t like waffles but this here changes everything. It’s so crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.. the waffles are amazingly delicious and the fruits are sour-ish to help counter the sweetness going the waffle.. so this dish is DAMBOMB! Love it lots! 5/5
3- Then my bf ordered a spaghetti mushroom with egg on top I think… cuz he didn’t eat lunch… the poor baby 😭 I made him wait cuz he wanted to have dinner with me… anyways based on his opinion, he liked it and it tasted good ^^ he gives this 4/5
4- My bf ordered me the bottled juice and he had the coffee… both are good ^^b not much to say about the bottled one since it’s… well.. bottled 😂😂 but my bf told me the coffee is delish… quite balanced.. 4/5 for this..
5- the biggest upgrade was the atmosphere… it’s very spacious and has an amazing view of Sunway Waterpark… it’s really romantic to have lunch there cuz of the view but too bad not much light scenery going on at night but still pretty nice view ^^ 5/5 for this
6- price wise, pretty affordable so I don’t mind coming here again to get myself some lunches or...
Read moreReview: The Owls Cafe – Sunway Pyramid (250 words)
Tucked away in Sunway Pyramid, The Owls Cafe is a cozy and charming spot perfect for brunch dates, friendly catch-ups, or a quiet solo escape. Its warm ambiance and scenic corner seating with views of Sunway Lagoon add to its appeal. The highlight here? Undoubtedly, the waffles. Crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, and beautifully presented with fresh fruits and ice cream—they’re a must-try.
Service is attentive, and despite posted notices that waffles and breakfast items were unavailable, management pleasantly surprised us by allowing off-menu orders—a level of guest accommodation that hints at quiet but sharp operational finesse.
On the savory side, the Chicken & Waffles impressed with its hearty flavor and crisp texture. The Ege Shashuka, however, fell short: a modest portion with a taste leaning more Italian than Moroccan, possibly due to the use of a pasta-style sauce. It's a dish with potential that could benefit from a more authentic spice profile.
Among other dishes, the Aglio Olio Seabass stood out for its balance, while the Grilled Chicken Burger and Red Bolognese were decent but unmemorable. Drinks like the Latte, Cappuccino, and Oat Latte were flavorful, though portion sizes leaned small.
Prices here are on the premium end, and with that comes higher expectations. Still, the ambiance, solid waffle game, and responsive staff create a worthwhile experience. This marks the fourth Owls Cafe branch we've visited—and like the others, it didn’t disappoint. A consistently enjoyable brand that delivers...
