Thai Palace Restaurant — Restaurant in Malé

Well, pleasantly surprised to find a Thai restaurant in Hulhumale with a Thai chef. all the food was extremely authentic and very tasty. HOWEVER, our friends who ordered six dishes received all their dishes first where we then had to watch them eat and always finish their food to the point of being full before we received our only two dishes. By this time I was extremely hangry! I asked the waiter several times when our food was going to come and kept reassuring me that it was going to come soon. Seems like the and the owner of the restaurant were just following the order list from top to bottom instead of actually thinking about how and when the dishes should’ve been served. it was nice that the owner of the restaurant came out to apologize. Otherwise this would’ve been a one star review. Yes, again after I had given my cash to pay the bill, after 10 minutes, I then had to request to get my change, which sadly took the wind out of the apology we received. The place is peaceful and the food is good. We chose Thai Palace thinking that we definitely will receive better service than an ordinary café. Our expectation was wrong. The order we placed was not served properly. Our drinks were not served by the time we were about to finish our main meals. We had to call for a waiter to ask for our drinks which we ordered at the beginning, when we asked for it she asked us what drinks we want to order. Told we have already ordered it. After we finished having our main meals we were waiting for the desert which we ordered before. After about 10 minutes the waiter again came and asked "Do u need anything else?" Again we had to say we ordered our deserts and we prefer to have it. We never expected toilet tissues instead of serviettes on the dining table. Just only the 'uniform' is not enough. Wow. The food here really is authentic Thai. I've been to Thailand, eaten Thai food in The US and I can say the food here is spot on the person that served us SR, was very polite and professional and served us right away, the food was so good we ordered another dish to go. We had the Thai ice tea, lemon tea, green curry, shrimp fried rice and chicken pad Thai, i ate it so fast I felt so full but the food was so good I just kept eating.
