One of the most incredible Indian restaurants that I’ve come across in South Asia this year had to be The Rajdhani in the Maldives! Never did I expect to find such an upscale and authentic restaurant in the Maldives outside of the hotels, resorts and islands that may serve this particular cuisine and definitely not in the North Malé Atoll where I didn’t even know about such a great restaurant existing! I’m so glad I decided to explore Hulhumalé during the time I stayed in Malé, the capital city of the Maldives, that is often overlooked and just used as a base to transfer to your hotels or resorts after landing directly. I’d recommend spending at least 1 day in Malé and then exploring Hulhumalé as well which is a reclaimed manmade island that is just minutes away from the Maldivian capital and a bit more peaceful as well! The Maldives is also a great destination for solo travelers, families and friends traveling together and if you’re not the type of person to completely unwind and relax at one hotel throughout your trip and want to explore the Maldivian capital city and venture off to Hulhumalé as well then The Rajdhani will be a great spot to stop and enjoy delicious and memorable Indian dishes! I loved trying several items across their menu such as their Mackerel and Red Snapper which are locally caught and their Butter Chicken, Palak Paneer, Chicken Machboos and Rajdhani Royal Falooda were some of the other items I tried. Each dish was so fresh, beautifully rich in its taste and presented brilliantly in serving sizes that made it quite easy to share as well if you are going with a few people. They use the freshest ingredients and the most premium quality ones as well which is evident through every bite I took! Their entire staff is so attentive and friendly and you can even ask them for recommendations if you are not too familiar with Indian cuisine beyond a point. I’d recommend that you try at least 2-3 dishes because they have an extensive selection of dishes on their menu and each are equally worth a try! Their Palak Paneer, or Cottage Cheese in Puréed Spinach, is an ideal dish to savour if you do not want to eat any meat! I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was quite authentically prepared by an Indian chef as well. I could see the food being made in the kitchen as well and this level of hygienic preparation and cooking was something that I was really pleased to learn about! If you’re coming from the Middle East or Europe then you’ll really appreciate their price points as well because the quality of the food is really up to the mark! Great peaceful ambiance as well and a clean and sleek interior pair together seamlessly to bring the ultimate dining experience to its customers at this...
Read moreThis clean, well-maintained restaurant boasts a modern ambiance. While the food was good, there's room for improvement to capture a more authentic Indian taste. The fast service and kid-friendly environment are definite positives. However, the limited seating and space, coupled with a slightly higher price point, may be considerations for some. Overall, a nice spot with potential for...
Read moreWell enjoyed the services of the restaurant. Beautiful finishing of an indian touch interior. Hygienic and well arranged tables and all. Gives a vibrant, attracting vibe . Food served turns to be good. But I couldn't get the authentic indian taste. Friendly kind and great service delivered from the waiters. I would say the price doesn't match the taste and quality of the...
