Vilu Cafe — Hotel in Malé

My stay was just a night. I arrived at the hotel at 19:00hrs. Booked by Agoda, the Hotel staff recognised me. After Quick check-in, they gave me the key. First no orientation. I didn't know where to go to find my room. It was 201. I asked the front desk which direction I have to go? After that, the hotel staff took me upstairs & shows my room. That's fine. There are no Towels, in the room. I call the front desk at 19:15 and informed that I need towels. He said he is delivering a towel after a few minutes. Next day morning 10:30 I went to the front desk because I don't receive towels. And I Request for Late checkout It cost $20. I got towels 13:25. At 14:20 I went out of the hotel & I came back to the hotel at 16:55. Same staff when I get check-in was on the front desk. He was surprised because he didn't know I request late check out. He asked me still you didn't check out? In a rude manner. This is the only staff I met in this hotel which is not friendly.||||Negative point: WIFI speed is not bad but the signal to room 201 was very poor. We had a wonderful dinner experience at Vilu Café. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. The young lady welcoming guests outside was incredibly kind and made us feel at home right away.

We ordered a few Indian dishes, and they were absolutely delicious—so aromatic and full of flavor. Impressively, our food arrived at the table within just 15 minutes.

The beverages were world-class! I tried the Detox Cleanse, while my wife enjoyed the Vilu Ice Coffee. Both were exceptional, and credit goes to the talented bartender who crafted them with such perfection.

Even the reception staff were very friendly, talkative, and always ready to help with any request.

Overall, Vilu Café is not just about good food—it’s about warm hospitality, excellent service, and a truly welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience...

We had a bad experience at this cafe. The first time wasn’t terrible, but the second time was enough to not make us want to return.

We ordered the chicken burger, which was a horrible experience. The burger had no sauce at all, which made it dry to eat and the chicken part was a processed patty that tasted like it had been frozen for a long time before it was cooked.

The other bad part of the experience was being denied the WiFi password. They said they didn’t have WiFi, but you could see a channel for their WiFi with the name of the cafe.

The server was not attentive and we had to call him, even though he was just standing around. Most of the time he was flirting with a table of women and taking selfies wi to them instead of checking on us.

He asked my wife how her food was but neglected to ask me how mine was. Sorry, no photos for this review.
