The Road Devil Sea Front — Restaurant in Sliema

NOT COMING BACK. I live and work in the area so I always go to the bars next to it (about 4 times per week or more) but since they were both full, I decided to try this one. Got the wrong food and later wrong coffees. Still, we didn't complain because they were quite busy and we were having a good time.. but when I went to pay and asked them to get my DEPOSIT back (they asked for a "deposit" of 50 EUROS that morning to book the table), since we wanted to split the bill and pay by card, they first said no, then after insisting one waiter said "ok" but asked us to go pay in the counter.. once there a different guy came saying straight away that we were not going to get any money back, without even letting us speak before (yeah, nice to meet you too! You must be the waiter of the year!). I explained to our new friend that I wasn't intending to pay less than the deposit (even if in fact we had consumed less), we just wanted to split the amount and my friend had no cash, so she needed to pay her part by card. While I was talking, a man who looked like the owner came, repeated we wouldn't get any money back and just turned around and left without even speaking to us... 2nd guy kept repeating they "couldn't take any money out from the cash register so we had to work it out ourselves" (ahhh! but they COULD put my 50 EUROS it in the morning without any consumption and couldn't even give me a bill or signed paper when I asked for it!).

All of this, of course, was being said to me in a very not pleasant way..

0 customer service from these wonderful gentlemen.

Not even sure if they're just so greedy that they couldn't even realise that in the end of the day they were getting MORE MONEY from me since I consumed less and I REALLY didn't mind because I was having a lovely Sunday evening.. or maybe they just couldn't process my request in their brains, in which case let me apologise... I was probably asking for something too complicated to at least deserve a polite and logical answer apart from NO, YOU WON'T GET ANY MONEY BACK. We are all different in this beautiful world.

Ps. Feedback: good customer service is not only when things go right, it's about knowing how to handle all types of situations and you were terrible. You definitely did something veeeery wrong if you managed to make angry a customer that was enjoying so much her afternoon that didn't complain about 2 wrong orders and paying more...

A nice eating outlet on Sliema seafront which has a pleasant atmosphere and the sea bass fillets were well presented and one of the tastiest I have had. All the staff members are very pleasant and willing to chat,certainly worth a second visit to try cod/chips maybe even though as pointed out it's frozen and thawed before cooking(most fish is like this) unlike the fresh sea bass. And afterwards a pleasant walk along the sea front towards Valetta to...

Good value for money, especially during happy hour (on cocktails only). Everything is reasonably priced, good portions and the quality of the food was good (we all had all had pasta's and one risotto). Cocktails are better than some of restaurants next to it. Service was fast, friendly and attentive. The view is not bad as well. Overall nothing really to complain about, we will come back...
