Matthew is awful. Racist and misogynistic towards woman and POC in particular and their food is awful.
We came in search for tasty and fresh desserts and after 20 mins waiting and servers faffing over a dessert menu we were presented with a selection of desserts and told these were freshly made this morning. We had our doubts but took the servers word for it. We were ultimately served stale desserts which were dry and had bits in it. We spoke to the original server and he apologised and offered to get us drinks instead. We refused because we were there for dessert not drinks. Before the conversation could even go any further mathhew the manager appeared and began shouting at us and in particular my friend. He accused us of lying and that the dessert was fresh from ‘yesterday’ (lol). He said he tasted it and it was ‘fresh’ and all desserts are for 3 days (lol). When I told him the definition of fresh and that I know good desserts because of my background he retorted (and lied) that he was a patisserie as well. I offered to pay for the stale desserts and either way would leave a review. He was very aggressive and nasty towards us regardless and when my friend asked him to lower his voice because he was frightening her he tried to gaslight us by saying the music was loud so that’s why he was shouting - yet our voices never reached the same pitch and he heard us just fine. When his bullying didn’t work and the entire resturant was watching us, he switched and said ‘don’t pay’ and tried to frame us as thieves. He said to his server - that he knew what we were doing. It was an odd comment to make and came across extremely racist and cheap.
Scary man with no work ethic and extremely poor attitude. I totally see why this place is soo poorly rated!

Read moreIncredibly disappointing.
After walking by and seeing this busy restaurant we were filled with positivity. Unfortunately that positivity quickly faded exponentially for a number of reasons.
First of all, we were given a small coffee table on a sofa and some menu’s, even though there were actual dinner tables available. The people behind us waiting for tables were brought directly to the dining area. We were obviously very confused by this and asked to sit in the actual dining area, they then moved us to a noisy table at the edge of the restaurant next to where the cutlery was sorted. This table also had no heater next to it, even though other tables next to heaters were available.
At this point we were cold and confused but still gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and ordered our 2 rib-eye steaks, with fries, pepper sauce, and some drinks.
Our drinks arrived after about 10 minutes and about 10 minutes after that another couple arrived and sat at the table next to us. They got their food after around 30 minutes of waiting. Meanwhile after around 1 hour of waiting in the cold, there was still no sign of our food. Not once did someone check on us to see if we needed anything, and my girlfriend even had her hood up and was shaking because she was so cold.
Our food finally arrived and yet again, another disappointment. The steaks were lukewarm at best, and the fries were stone cold. At this point we were hungry and cold and just wanted to finish the food and go back to our hotel ASAP.
Absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone eating in Valletta as there are already so many better (and cheaper) options. They charge an extra 4.5 euros to add a small bowl of pepper sauce with your...
Read moreHaving a walk in Valletta with my girlfriend close San giovanni restaurant when We heard a lovely live music we decided to have have a sit and we ordered drinks. A Vodka Sour for myself and Virgin Strawberry Mojito for my girlfriend. When the cocktail came I realized that something wrong with Vodka Sour and I called the waiter to explain the ingredients and I found out that it was made with eggs which wasn’t written in the menu (was disgusting ) I ask the waiter to change it for Negroni as my stomach it’s not accepting eggs and I know many people who are allergic about eggs and it’s such of risk for them without knowing what they are having and probably will end up at hospital. Anyway I was enjoying the negroni and the music until we asked for our bill and I saw Virgin mojito €9 and Negroni the same €9. I ask the waiter if something wrong with the bill as it’s not possible for a stronger cocktail made with 3 type of alcoholic and mojito virgin to be at the same price and he told me that it’s not just virgin mojito it’s a strawberry virgin mojito that’s why(Really ,as far as i know others asking if needed to be classic of flavor ) I ask for manager to get a clear explanation and the same story blah blah blah wasting my time Before he leaves ask me if it’s about 2 or 3 euros offending me. Very bad service, worst experience ever. What make it worse it’s that I ask the waiter to get the bill with me and at first he refused to give me I don’t suggest this place to anyone Poor service...
