Mezcal & Sal is nothing short of exceptional. This is a tourist safe restaurant which specializes in Cocktails, Mocktails and authentic Mexican/Latin food.

There is much to be said about the unique presentation of the cocktails, including artistinal floral and glassware presentation. Every presentation is quite literally unique, you will never have the same display twice, but beyond the take-your-breath away aesthetics, there is also an exceptionally talented kitchen.

The tapas were strikingly fresh, nuanced and proportioned. The fish tacos burst with flavor, a welcome diversion from the usual bland and oft soggy alternatives. I spent a decidedly inordinate amount of time deducing how the chef made their tortillas, but I had to give up. I can say without question the tortillas here are the finest I have ever eaten.

The texture of the tortillas sits somewhere outside the realm of the traditional tortilla scale. Normally that may not be a good thing and I hesitate to say this because I know how contentious it could be, but what they have accomplished here is create something new, and what it has done has not only improved upon the tortilla, but elevated the taco.

This restaurant compares to some of the best and priciest in North America, frankly it undersells itself, it could easily charge five times what it does and I would still go again and again, however I applaud their commitment to making an exceptional dining experience accessible and friendly.

I call it an experience because it is one.

If you ever find yourself in Puerto Vallarta it has much to offer, but in my mind, at least at this point in time, it's brightest attraction is Mezcal y Sal. Go there so you can say you were there before the culinary...

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Must-Visit Culinary Experience in Puerto Vallarta!

If you’re looking for a restaurant that blends bold flavors, creative cocktails, and top-tier service, Mezcla & Sal is the place to be! 🤩🌮🍸

🍹 Outrageously Delicious Drinks

The cocktails here are next-level! We tried the Mágico—a refreshing mix of lime, guanábana, and ginger 🍋🍃, and the Jamaica with mezcal, which was exotic, floral, and smoky 🌺🔥. Each drink was crafted with artistic flair, making them as beautiful as they were delicious.

🌮 Food that Packs a Punch

Everything we tried was bursting with flavor: ✅ Pastor Tlayuda—Absolutely mouthwatering! If you can handle the heat 🌶️🔥, definitely try the picante sauce. ✅ Poutine with Corn—A Mexican twist on a classic, rich and satisfying. 🌽🥔 ✅ Sweet Tetela with Mole—A must-try for those who love sweet & savory combos 🍫✨. ✅ Cochinita Pibil—Tender, juicy, and full of Yucatán flavor! 🐷🍽️

💯 Fast, Attentive Service

The staff is super friendly, quick, and makes sure you have an amazing experience. Service was efficient without feeling rushed—just perfect! 🏆👏

🎉 Vibrant Ambiance

The restaurant has a modern yet cozy vibe, with a chill atmosphere and stylish decor. Perfect for a fun night out, whether it’s with friends, a date, or just treating yourself. 🍷🕯️

🚨 FINAL VERDICT: Mezcla & Sal is a must-visit when in Puerto Vallarta. Whether you’re here for the cocktails, food, or both, you’re in for a one-of-a-kind experience. Can’t wait to come...

What a great find. This place was recommended to us by some friends, and it did not disappoint. This is a very “artsy” place to eat. If you are ok with an artsy and funky approach to your dining experience (including a hard to read menu), you will love this place. When you walk in, you are greeted by smiling staff and a fun looking environment.

The server will drop off the menu, which is extremely hard to understand…. The menu design was the only thing I didn’t like about the establishment, and I actually hated it. I would suggest using the QR Code version on the table as it was easier to read.

They had a nice selection of drinks on their menu, and they all come out in an artistic presentation, which I LOVED.

All the food on the menu could also be made vegetarian and/or vegan, which was a nice touch. I am NOT vegetarian but opted for all vegetarian options as they sounded delicious. I ordered the fried cauliflower chunks with a trio of delicious sauces, along with a shredded hibiscus flower tostado (hibiscus flowers were prepared pastor style). Everything was delicious, and I would order it again. Other items that were ordered at the table included a trio of guacamole (prepared with dried grasshoppers), poutine, tacos, and a quesadilla with peanut mole. We all enjoyed our dinner very much. It was finished off with a delicious aperitif and a piece of chocolate cake to share.

Everything we had was delicious, and I can’t wait to return...

Finally made it to Mezcal & sal. What a wonderful little restaurant. We arrived just as they were finalizing there set up for the evening on Valentine’s. Every table appeared to be reserved. There were roses at each table and every little detail was being looked after before their dinner rush. We were seated outside and I would say that sitting inside would be very different from sitting outside. Much larger tables inside (for 4-6 people) and you don’t have to put up with the people walking past your table as you eat. I would also suggest going a little later when it is dark out as I believe you would get a much better appreciation of the total ambiance they are creating. Regardless, the drinks were as interesting and good as described by others, the menu was very simple yet had a decent selection (inclusive of vegan and vegetarian). We had the Incognito and a pineapple one (can’t recall the name) for our drinks, Palomitas de Coliflor as an appy and the Fish Chicharron and Watermelon Tiradito for our mains. Not the most inexpensive restaurant but worth it for the time and effort they put in to each drink and dish. I would definitely go back!
