We recently traveled to Puerto Vallarta with 28 friends and family members to celebrate my 50th birthday, and Mi Pueblito quickly became our favorite spot. Night after night, Ricardo took incredible care of our large group with finesse, professionalism, expediency, and a warm smile.

On the actual night of my birthday, Ricardo and Maury went above and beyond by decorating our table with balloons, flowers, and special chairs—it was absolutely over the top in the best way and made both me and the entire group feel truly special.

The nightly buffet was delicious and changed daily, offering something new and tasty each evening. On my birthday night, we ordered various dishes from their a la carte menu and oh boy, everything was absolutely DELICIOUS.

The view from the restaurant—right on the beach—is breathtaking, especially at sunset. If you’re in the Zona Romántica or staying at Playa Los Arcos, do yourself a favor and stop in. Ask for Ricardo r Maury —you will not be disappointed!

For beachside pool service…. If you’re lucky enough to find yourself on this beach or by the pool, keep an eye out for Eliseo, Osiris, and Alejandro—they’re absolute legends! From 10am to 6pm, these three work tirelessly to make sure your cup (literally) never runs dry.

We had a group of 29 people staying for a full week, and somehow these amazing gentlemen memorized every single person’s drink order and which stickered YETI cup belonged to whom. Not once did a drink go missing or get mixed up—talk about...

ATMOSPHERE: This is another beach-front spot along the Malecon. While they have no on-sand seating, it's open-air and has great views of the beach. Towards the back of the restaurant was a stage and sunken area which looked like a dance floor with surrounding seating.

BREAKFAST MENU: Breakfast buffet or Mexican & American fare from the menu. The buffet included empanada & fruit stations, along with the traditional buffet offerings but no omelette station.

We scanned the buffet but weren't impressed, so we ordered off the menu.

FOOD: Empanadas I really love these things but they were available only at the buffet. Our server was nice enough to let us grab a plate anyway. They were made with corn tortillas and were filled with a mild-flavored cheese. Eh. Where's the meat?

Omelette I got my favorite ingredients of ham, mushroom, green peppers, and cheese. It was very runny and tasteless, regardless of the salty fillers. The tiny helping of hash browns were barely grilled so it lacked any color or crunch. Absolutely disappointing.

Waffle The batter was a bit dark, wheaty tasting, and dry. Fresh strawberries and whipped cream topped the dehydrated waffle. Strike three, you're out.

SERVICE: Our male server was a cool cat, allowing me to try the empanadas! He was friendly and professional.
