My disastrous experience was this: 9:45 pm I approached the cart to order. No acknowledgement. The server stood there and played with his phone. So I sat down at an open table, waited to re-approach. Went up again and was completely ignored. Said “screw it” to myself and walked away. After walking the block, I needed to confirm if I was completely being shunted. Went back only 15 minutes later, walked up to the same guy and said hello. He just stood still and stared straight ahead. I walked away. This in the heart of Zona Romantica. Read moreOn a recent week-long visit we stopped here for a quick bite and were amazed to find (& eat) what was to me the best food of my entire stay. We tried all of the different tacos (pictured), returned two days later for quesadillas which were also incredible. Stopped by for a couple more tacos al-pastor on our last night. This is when the very friendly proprietors told us this was a 3rd generation family-owned business celebrating its 50th year in business. Read moreI must agree with the five star awards preceding mine. Flavorful food with good sauces. I enjoyed watching the helpful cook preparing my order in case I ever want to duplicate this at home. Engage with locals in this (normally busy) pedestrian zone while eating delicious tacos in the shade and among the wonderful tropical plants growing here, then casually wander down to the beach and pier.
