Pretty space. Terrible service. Gross ramen.
The place is pretty. At least the plants are being tended to. The service honestly felt like the two waiters were pissed we were eating there. The guy just came up to our table and stood there without saying anything. We tried to ease the awkwardness and said, “como estás?” (his job), and still nothing. The girl waiter slammed our water glasses down, we said thank you, she said nothing and walked away. Each interaction with her was extremely rude with zero eye contact. The sushi was okay. The drink I ordered didn’t come out until our final course came out, despite ordering at the start with everything else. Throughout we continued getting rude, and rushed interactions with the staff, walking away while we were still asking them things, dropping things on the table, not saying anything and walking away.
We both had the Birriamen. Birria and ramen? Sounds interesting. What came out was a bowl of the grossest meatiest stew with some noodles. The smell was straight up beef, maybe non-vegans would like this, but we both found it inedible. As we were getting up to go pay, the guy server came by and saw that we both still had most of our food left uneaten, we told him we didn’t like it and we couldn’t eat it, and he laughed and said, “okay” as he walked away.
The kicker was when we did go to pay, there were items on our check we didn’t order. And they make a scene about removing them.
Spend your money elsewhere. Literally...
Read moreI have to start by saying that I am vegan. I’m also a huge fan of Thai food, as it is one of my go to for a hearty and savory meal. Additionally, I wasn’t aware that the cocktails don’t have alcohol. I indulged them and approached it with curiosity.
The Reina de Flores, advertised as (wild, pleasant) felt more like tame, and lacked the floral fragrance that was advertised. I am still unsure if the CBD did anything. It tasted more like an expensive cold tea.
My starter was the Sunomono, pickled cucumbers, with onion and bell pepper. It lacked spice and it was very heavy on the lime. It was lime juice with garlic, but at least the cucumbers had a nice pickled texture and crunch.
I tried out one of their specialty, Pad See Ew. rubbery noodles 4 pieces of tofu that weren’t marinated enough. Broccoli was good, could’ve been tossed a bit less. A crunch would’ve helped. There was a bit of sweetness and no savoryness. 1 quarter slice of bok choy.
In terms of the service, I don’t think it was anything less than efficient and speedy service. I thought it was best not to stick around for dessert. Maybe it was an off day. I won’t taking a chance at this restaurant again.
I hope that anyone who comes here to try a vegan experience for their first time isn’t misled by this. Vegan approaches to food can be exquisite, this is just not one of them.
The aesthetic is nice for...
I eat at vegan places everywhere. I ate here 3 times in the past week and the food is overpriced for what you get. For example I just ordered the Udon noodles with shiikake mushrooms. I was charged the price of 3 tacos to make it gluten free. It only had a few tiny button mushrooms. The only reason I ordered it was for the mushrooms. Another Day I tried a roll which had about 1 peso worth of carrot, was lacking the promised cucumber, and had the tiniest sliver of avocado on top. I couldnt even finish it it was so bad. And it cost $600 pesos for two rolls, juice and coffee. I have no problem with high prices, but I expect for these outrageous costs to actually feed my body some nutrients, not fill my belly with cheap tapioca noodles with a lacking sauce in all but the salt. Beautiful decor, but discriminating tastes and diets will look elsewhere. My fruit bowl I had one moring was delicious and beautiful but again, lacking in the wild rice even though the name of the dish is...
