2025 #194 (CDMX 2025 #101): originally came here back in 2015. Was in the area after taking some friends to el Monumento a la Revolución and thought I'd give it a try. I ordered two tacos de campechano, and they were fantastic. Handmade, larger-than-average tortillas with excellent, thinly-cut steak with tasty longaniza. An incredible salsa bar. Tacos cost $38 but are absolutely worth it. There's another stall/stand in here selling cheaper tacos with a more pared down salsa bar, but I'd recommend going to the "main" one on the left. I will be returning soon for more campechano and/or bistec taocs soon.

Food was decently good. Nothing to write home about. Enjoyed the bistec and not so much the longaniza and chuleta. The condiments are fun to play around with. Not your typical onion and cilantro type of taco. There are pickled peppers/onions, green beans(?), frijoles, “mashed potatoes”, and two different types of salsa. The aguacate was spicier than the red. Got approached by beggars 3 times which was pretty annoying. They also upsold us on a large drink without asking which wasn’t cool.

My first time visiting this Tacos Shop. I had pork chop and chorizo tacos. It was delicious and I loved it. There re some condiments that you can get for free. (potato, some stirfey vegies, string bean like stuff, etc.) I'm little dissapointed that there weren't any canitas nor pastor, nor loma. But overall service was great since I didnot speak Spanish but a guy helped me order my tacos. It was great experience at restaurant.

An amazing place to get some quick, delicious tacos. Grabbed an order of the loganisa and the beef tongue tacos which are ready for you in super short order. You just choose your meat and if you want cheese and that’s handed to you on a fresh tortilla, everything else is available on the side for you to pour on at your discretion. The salsa verde here is proper spicy but still flavorful and you can pack your taco with any manner of other toppings you want. Beef tongue taco was unexpectedly delicious, super beefy and the texture of just a whole slice of beef tongue on a taco was pretty interesting but still bite through-able. Loganisa taco was probably the most flavorful taco I’ve had so far, absolutely great. Nothing tasted overcooked or dry either which I feel like is a common problem with a lot of otherwise tasty tacos. Vibe is very get-in, get-out, they are here to feed the locals not impress tourists. Locals definitely appreciate it, every time I walk by the place is packed but you can still get your order in pretty quickly. There’s very limited seating and some standing counter space but everything is designed to be easy to eat standing up although maybe pay the tiny bit extra for an extra tortilla if structural integrity is a concern. A must try if you’re...

We found this place after doing a search for good restaurants in the area, and I would definitely attest to the popularity of this place. At right around 8:30pm in a Saturday night there were probably about twenty people standing outside and eating their freshly made tacos. I literally do mean standing and eating, and this is something that you will see a lot of in the city. Besides the fact that their outdoor seating is limited, the ambience here is typical of the city. Nothing super fancy just great tacos. I decided to order something that I was familiar with, and that was the beef tacos. Each beef taco with cheese cost $35 pesos, about $1.85 for 2. My girlfriend ordered two pork chop tacos with cheese, which came out to be the same price. For drinks I ordered the mamay juice drink and she got the guanaba. The food was definitely 100%...

When in Mexico City go to this place. It's a very typical taqueria that reminds of the years after the end of the Mexican revolution. Taquerias where the epicentre of culinary revival of the Prehispanic taco: a mix of protein, citrics, and spicy sauce. I'd recommend you be patient because el Progreso is always busy and overcrowded times exceed service. Be open minded, tacos are delicious, some of them are simple rostro beef, but do not hesitate being intrepid an get a bite of tongue, head, longaniza, suadero and other delicacies. Finally, add the quantity of spicy salsa by yourself. Mexicans sometimes add too much clillies to the sauce. What can I say, suffering is a National Sport! Enjoy and let me know...
