My husband, my sister and I stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night at around 7 for our last dinner in Mexico City. We wanted to try some ceviche, and this was close by our hotel, so it seemed like a great option. We started off with some rock shrimp in dynamite sauce, which came with a little side of guac. I think this was everyone's favorite. Even though it was saucy, it was still crispy. Next, we had the Levanta Muertos (layers of seafood consisting of cooked shrimp, raw shrimp, octopus, tomatos, orange, pepino, and onion) - this was good but there was a lot going on. It was also a bit difficult to eat but overall, everything tasted fresh. We also ordered some tostadas and some ceviche. I honestly don't remember which one it was but I just know that we picked a different tostada from the ceviche we ordered. I don't know if they just brought out the same one because it's all they have left, but both tasted identical. They were good, but it was just too much of the same flavors. Each table had a caddy of salsas and extra (plain) tostadas, so that helped - but we still had a lot leftover. As for service, the waiter wasn't too nice at the beginning and just seemed like he hated being there. I don't know if it was because we came in an hour before closing or what, but were done/paid/getting ready to leave before closing time at 8. We still tipped well and I think after he saw that, he became the friendliest guy - even offering to help us take some pictures. So just be wary. Overall, I would only recommend this place if you're staying in the area. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here as I'm sure there are better ceviche spots in Mexico City. I'd also recommend not ordering all ceviche like we did (we didn't really think it through). It's a lot for the stomach to handle (at least ours).

I wanted to like my experience here but the food was very salty and lacking any kind of pizzazz or yumminess. The tostada La Chona was drowning in a salty dressing which sorely lacked acidity and spice, despite being described as chipotle based. The chunks of tuna were plentiful but had no essence of ocean. They were just salty pieces of protein overshadowed by that weird dark sauce. Even the little cubes of avocado did nothing for the dish. I tried to add some sparkle by squeezing lime on, but it didn’t help. The Gobernador marlin taco was okay but came off slightly bitter and salty. The shrimp taco (what was it called?) held three batter fried shrimp overdressed in a thick sweet sauce and guacamole. I had to scrape off the excess sauce as it was quiet overpowering. I suppose the soft tortillas were sort of good in that they were clearly fresh and pliable. Pleasant outdoor and indoor seating. Good service by Jorge who asked me more than once to write a review, so I am complying. I’m sorry I couldn’t be more complimentary, Buddy. You and the food have got plenty of fans based on the reviews here so my opinion seems to be the anomaly.

Wow. firstly, our waiter jorge was awesome. he checked in and made light conversation. when I go out to eat I don’t look for banter or talkative waiters but he was awesome. the food was wow. my bf ordered ceviche that is a shareable portion and I was so surprised at how flavorful it was. we both ordered tacos I had the gobernador he ordered the enamorado. both we very tasty. I also ordered a tostada roca. what the heck it was great. I was so surprised at how good the food was. to drink my bf ordered a beer/michelada. the miche was not tomato based it was lime so it kinda threw me off but he loved it and when I tasted it I liked it too. I ordered an horchata and it had a hint of coconut, it came bottled which was cool if you want to take it to go. overall it was an amazing experience I def want to go back.

This place is overrated. If you're looking for better shrimp and fish tacos with good service at a cheaper price, we recommend El Pescadito, which isn't too far away. The few excellent foods they have are overshadowed by their poor service. Hire better servers.

Pros: We'll admit, the ceviche was some of the best we've had in our lives. However, the restaurant cons overwhelm the few pros.

Cons:

Most of the fish and shrimp tacos were mediocre Asian fusion, including their signature taco.

Aside from the food coming out at a reasonable speed, the service was the worst we've had in Mexico City, and we couldn't enjoy our meal due to their pushiness. The waitress forgot part of our order, seemed annoyed when we politely corrected her, then was extremely pushy to get us out beginning 30 minutes before closing. When we were midway through finishing our final tacos with full mouths and dirty hands, she shoved the payment machine into our faces and expected us to dig into our bags to get our credit cards out at that very moment, and then also had the gall to rudely ask for a tip (mandatory minimum is 10%). We weren't planning to loiter around and were on our way to leaving before they closed.

The staff's English is very basic, and they can't answer questions beyond the typical "what do you recommend?" They struggled when we asked them how many tacos do customers...
