I wanted to like this place so I’ll start with the positive. The food is really good and the portion size seems correct. The drinks are nice and so is the ambiance. However they seem to have poor allocation of staff so service was really slow when I went. In addition, I was speaking Spanish and they kept changing to English to speak to me. Only me. Even when I kept speaking in Spanish. And I know my Spanish isn’t the best but it isn’t that hard to say “table for one inside please.” They even brought me the drink and food menu in Spanish before grabbing the food menu QR code from me and saying “sorry, here is English.” I didn’t ask for English, and they took the only food menu access I had away from me. On top of that the food came out super slow between the apps and the tacos. It also took them over 5 minutes to bring me the check when I asked for it. Just all around a lackluster experience despite the...

Even though there was only one waiter the service shouldn't be that clumsy. We had entrees and main dishes at the same time, which meant that our main dishes were cold when we finished the entrees.

The wine we ordered when we arrived was brought to us when we were finishing our meal. We also had to ask water several times and got small plastic bottles thrown to us. After all this the waiter insisted us to pay 20% tip (he has already selected that option). Obviously we didn't.

I really wanted to like this restaurant, because it looks nice and clean, the menu is ok an the food as well. The service made this experience... well... unforgettable, and not in a good way....

What an incredible disappointment! We made a reservation for tonight Jan 1st. No problem! Reservation confirmed! We received a confirmation of our reservation. All good! We show up on time to a closed restaurant!!! No advance notice! Here we are struggling to find a restaurant in New Year’s night that would accommodate us without a reservation! We understand that restaurants may be closed but it’s unacceptable that our reservation would be accepted and that we would not be notified of the closure. For a restaurant of this reputation, it’s simply...

I don't think I've ever left a review if they don't ask me but this place absolutely deserves it. Came for a quick two day dentist visit and stayed at the hotel across the street. I like to try new places since I love Mexican food, but the quality and flavor of the food is just as amazing as the service by Ulises, Arturo and Francisco and rest of the staff. Very dedicated people, so I came both days, and can't decide which dish was best. Will come back again, amazing Mexican food!

You’ve got to go to Maíz Tinto! It’s Mexican food with an exquisite twist of international ingredients brought from their origin. I’m sincerely obsessed with their fish, but honestly, everything is excellent. They have fantastic handmade tortillas; most of their wines are Mexican and delicious. Chef Ulises Palafox has a global experience worthy of your friends and your time. Besides, the prices are great. Let me know know what you think.
