My gf and I came here before we went on a tour, she found the spot off of TikTok. I’ll start by saying this place is EXTREMELY busy (Friday) in the morning but the line did go by pretty quickly, they had 4 different people taking orders. I think if you want to get a table you’ll probably wait awhile since they don’t have a large amount of seating.
We ordered an iced mocha and hot golden milk, along with a cinnamon roll, a guava roll and a breakfast sandwich. The drinks were mixed up and we ended up with a hot mocha and cold golden milk, but we didn’t bother changing it.
The food was really good, the breakfast sandwich I got was Roasted potatoes, fried eggs, rosemary and provolone focaccia. It was like potatoes and cheese baked into a bread with the egg on top, 10/10 very delicious. I also got the cinnamon roll which was really light and fluffy, great flavor-not too sweet. My gf got the guava roll which she was really a fan of also.
We ended up coming back again after our tour and both got iced mochas (actually cold this time lol) and I got a tres leches cake. I wasn’t really a fan of this, the cakes are just stored out on the counter so it wasn’t really cold like I’m used too. Also it tasted more like actual milk than the sweet flavor I’m used to- my gf was a fan of it though, so guess it depends on preference.
Edit: Came again on Sunday morning and it’s even BUSIER, reiterating the small amount of seating, I asked and would’ve been a 40 minute wait. This time I got the chilaquiles and they were really good, and a cinnamon roll again because they’re sooooo good. Definitely the best coffee/light breakfast we...
Read moreLocated in a hip, walkable neighborhood (overheard some folks waiting to order say in English, “Mexico City is the new New York”), this place is hopping and rightly so. I showed up around 4 pm on a Sunday, and they had sold out of bread (it would seem it’s that good. Will have to try again another time.) The few customers that were in the space enjoyed their coffees, and service was attentive. I ordered un croissant con ricotta y espinacas (“sandwich” options were still available, but no bread/pastries as they were all sold out) and OMG, y’all it was incredible. I’ve had several medialunas in my life, and this one was quite possibly the flakiest, butteriest I’ve had, and the ricotta incredibly creamy with the spinach a nice, fresh touch. I regret not taking a photo because it was decadent and delicious. Do yourself a favor and go here. Maybe before 4 pm on the Sunday of a puente (long weekend.) They sell their own cookbook, which, coupled with the buttery bakery smells was giving me some serious Tartine San Francisco vibes. Update: Reader, I went back the next day. Twice. First was a croissant de trigo integral con miel (whole grain but surprisingly flaky and delicious croissant) with un besito de frambuesa (soft shortbread sandwiching raspberry jam) then I brought friends and they had made fresh roles de guayaba (croissant-like flakes swirling guava preserves with cream cheese) so I ordered that. It was like a danish if danishes were actually scrumptious. My friend ordered a pan de limón (lemon poppy seed) and dang, it was so lemony it was downright juicy. This place will turn you...

If Panadería Rosetta had a loyalty program, I’d already have platinum status. Every time I’m in Mexico City, this place calls to me like a flaky, buttery siren, and I happily answer. Yes, the line is long. Yes, waiting for a table is a test of endurance. But trust me, this is no ordinary bakery—it’s a carb temple, and every second you spend waiting will be rewarded with pure, pastry-fueled bliss.
I’ve tried almost everything on the menu (for science, of course), and not once have I been let down. Last trip? Three visits. Three. And I still needed to buy a stash of pastries to smuggle home because the thought of being without them was too painful. French bakeries, take note—Rosetta’s got the same buttery finesse but with a Mexican twist that leaves you questioning every croissant you’ve ever had.
The absolute star of the show? The rol de guayaba. Imagine the flakiest, most buttery pastry you’ve ever had, then add a perfectly sweet-tart guava filling that makes your taste buds do a happy dance. It’s the kind of pastry you think about in the middle of the night, wondering if it’s socially acceptable to book a flight just to have it again. (Spoiler: It is.)
So, here’s the deal: if you love carbs, coffee, and life itself, you have to go to Panadería Rosetta. Skip it, and you’re missing out on one of the best reasons to visit Mexico City. Go once, and you’ll be hooked. Go twice, and you might as well start looking for apartments nearby. If I could persuade pastry, I mean sugary daddy, I would have an apartment upstairs for that...
