The culinary experience at Romaquil, situated in the vibrant Roma neighborhood of Mexico City and conveniently located near the Sunday farmers' market, is nothing short of exceptional. The restaurant's unique "do it yourself" menu concept allows patrons to customize their dishes with a variety of sauces, meats, and toppings, catering to a wide range of tastes and preferences. Our exploration of every meat option offered revealed that each cut was cooked to perfection, showcasing the kitchen's expertise and attention to detail. The chilaquiles, a standout dish, is particularly noteworthy for its impeccable flavor and presentation. Additionally, the restaurant's sauce selection deserves special mention; we sampled three different sauces, each presenting a distinct level of spiciness, ensuring there is an option to suit every palate. Beyond the savory dishes, Romaquil's juice bar is a revelation. The array of juices available is not only refreshing but also exceptionally flavorful, making it a highly recommended complement to any meal. In summary, Romaquil offers an extraordinary dining experience that brilliantly combines the flexibility of meal customization with the culinary richness of Mexican cuisine.

We stumbled upon this place by chance. We were quickly sat down by the waitress, who was very patient and polite to us non-spanish speakers. I started with a mango/orange/guava juice which I found to be the perfect balance of refreshing and sweet. My dad enjoyed his Americano. We each picked out a bread from the pan dulce basket and split with each other. Both breads were sweet and soft. I then built my own entree which had both chorizo and avocado. The food tasted extremely fresh and the chorizo was soft and tasty, a little different than what I get back in the states. We were sat right on the not too busy street on a warm sunny day. We had no complaints except they had forgotten my dad’s coffee, which they quickly remedied. Altogether, it was a great, casual experience.

Cute neighborhood brunch spot that specializes in chilaquiles and fresh juices. Mostly sidewalk tables with a couple of counter seats indoors. What we liked: - Design-your-own chilaquiles concept (pick the size, type of totopos, sauces, toppings, extras) - Big portions and good ingredients (our favs were arrachera, chorizo, and queso gratinado) - Juices were delicious (we tried Alegre and Sano) - Naturally gluten-free (corn totopos) - Big selection of sauces (and you can mix) What could have been better - Sauces were good but not spicy enough for us 🙈 - I like totopos that are crispier/thicker so that they won’t get soggy that quickly. But this is a personal preference. Overall friendly service and good price-value ratio.
