Vapiano — Restaurant in Mexico City

EDIT I just went through all of the reviews and there are so many recent 5 star reviews by people who only have 1 review and a bunch calling out the same person. I feel a lot of these are fake reviews to get their rating up. I'll preface this review with I came here on Christmas eve because most restaurants are closed and I needed to eat. I'll start with the atmosphere is cute and the hostess was welcoming. I took my own order as they have you do it at a kiosk. I ordered the ravioli, the mezcal cocktail, and brownie with ice creme and a cappuccino. The drink: Extremely sweet. I had to ask for water to dilute it and still left half the drink on the table. The entrée: I chose to have the pasta al dente and it seems like they don't know the difference between al dente and undercooked. The pasta was bad enough. I could not taste the meat inside as the sauce has way too much cheese. So much cheese that it dried the sauce out, if you know what I'm talking about. I was able to eat almost half and only because I was so hungry. I also had to remind them to give me the bread I ordered with it. The bread was OK after drizzling a good amount of olive oil on it. The dessert: I waited about 20 minutes and had to let 2 people know I already ordered it. It finally comes out and I'm instantly disappointed when I see it. No where on the menu does it mention it comes with nuts. I try the vanilla ice cream on top and it's a tangy vanilla frozen yogurt, not ice cream as it said in the description. Also, I love that they brought the brownie out in a mini skillet that was completely cold. The brownie itself was barely warm. The cappuccino was the only enjoyable thing I had there. I told the cashier about it and they removed the brownie from the receipt. But I still ended up paying $400 pesos for a pretty terrible meal and only ate about %30 of the whole meal. This was a decent experience only because we had trouble finding any decent Halal/Vegetarian options in Mexico City and I knew I could trust atleast a couple options from Vapianos, as its a restaurant I've eaten at a million times in London. The food was essentially the same as in London, although I believe covid affected the watch-the-cook experience of a standard Vapianos dine in (they provided a main screen to order off) We got the Margarita pizza & pesto pasta (normally called gamberetti e spinaci) Both were enjoyable although slightly cold. You can make additions to any meals, like adding shrimp to the pasta etc so that's always a bonus. The order screen is in Spanish only so you may need a waiters help if you're a tourist. If you're Muslim, looking for somewhere you can guarantee doesn't cook their meals using pork fat (as a lot do in Mexico) or on the same grill/equipment as non-halal options, this is a trustworthy...

Nossa escolha de pratos merece destaque especial. Pedimos uma pasta carbonara e um brownie de sobremesa, e ambos estavam excelentes. A carbonara veio cremosa, na temperatura certa e repleta de sabor – fiel à receita italiana, talvez até com um toquezinho picante local que a tornou única. Já o brownie chegou quentinho, macio por dentro e com um intenso sabor de chocolate — simplesmente divino, fechando a refeição com chave de ouro.
