First off, you’re coming here for the live music venue aspect, not just for the food and drink. Secondly, especially if you are a tourist and have even a passing interest in jazz and live music, you absolutely should work in a night here. This is an absolute delight of a jazz club, located in a cozy basement with an out of the way entrance. Doors open at 9 but unless you make a reservation via WhatsApp message, you’ll have to wait until 10 to see if there’s availability for walk in. Their website has details on the theme/vibe of the night as well as the cover charge. Actual music didn’t start until about 10:30 in my case but I don’t regret coming in early in order to nab central, forward facing seating. Music was a delight and the audience were also all super into it as well. Unlike most other jazz clubs, there isn’t really a strict dress code or anything like that which I think does a great job of making this type of activity feel so much more accessible. Drinks aren’t super unique but mostly well executed classics. One thing I keep forgetting to mention is that most bars in Mexico use standard machine ice which is fine from a practicality standpoint but a nice cube or ball would make the presentation of a mezcal Negroni that much better. Food is also available, I only had a small snack of their Serrano ham and marinated tomatoes atop slices of baguettes which was a tasty blend of salty and fresh. Service did an excellent job of being available for everyone while staying out of the way of the performance. Overall amazing vibes, especially for a date, and a must go in the city. Even if you’ve never been to a live jazz performance before, this is probably the most accessible...
Read moreNow THIS is a jazz bar! Oh my Lord. My friend and I went for the first time and it was everything and more. There was a 3 piece band with bass, piano, and drums their names were Alex Mercado, Gabriel Puentes, and Rob Dugay. Incredible musicians. Their music felt like a warm and exciting hug to my soul. I couldn't stop smiling all night.
Then just when I thought it couldn't get better they brought out this angel of a singer named Suset (yes I got all of their names after the show haha). WOW. Her voice was insanely soulful. I don't know where she took me but that voice was transformative. It reminded me of Etta James, Esther Satterfield, and Billie Holiday. I was shook!
The food was also very good. We had the barrata and the ribeye tacos. Extremely flavorful and tasty. The prices were excellent compared to some other live music venues I've been too. You need a reservation ahead of time so check their Instagram. There was a cover the night we went for around 300 pesos, which now after having experienced it, was well worth it.
Also, their seating choices are based on who reserves first. So the best seats go to those who reserved early. I would suggest reserving at least 3-5 days in advance. I also really appreciated the size of the venue. We had a cozy little corner with enough space to relax and really enjoy the show. I am definitely a new fan of this place and...

We got our reservations, the band that played that day was the only good thing about Zinco.
We got few non alcoholic beers, they don't have any fresh juices, we didn't order food.
We paid 300mx cover (hopefully for the band) to get in.
The main issue is that they have huge tables and they push you to order food and bottles of wines, bit pushy sales, we just wanted good drinks alcohol free, we didn't got that.
The band was really struggling with the noise of a lot of people chatting, they (costumers) threatened the musicians like an elevator background music, simply ignored them.
I saw only one time one waiter approaching and asking the table next to us to keep it quiet, much ignored aswell.
After the second set, half of the tables started to talk louder and start to paid their bills and walk away.
I think Zinco should invite people to understand how jazz works and some basic rules of engagement during at small venue concert.
If you want to go and listen to a band here at Zinco, beware of the tiny bit disappointing you...
