Del Sur Parrilla Argentina — Restaurant in San Miguel de Cozumel

My family and I love to travel, and no matter where we go, something about Cozumel always brings us back. Just when we thought we’d tried it all, we stumbled upon this absolute gem — Del Sur Parrilla Argentina, located just a block off the main drag.

Coming from the Chicagoland area, we’re no strangers to great food and diverse dining experiences, but this place is truly to die for. The quality, flavor, and portion sizes were outstanding. We ordered the parrillada for two, and it was more than enough for my son and me — and for context, we’re both 6’1” and over 200 lbs!

If you’re looking for tacos, this isn’t your place. But if you’re ready to expand your palate with some incredible Hispanic and Argentinian dishes, this is where you want to be. Add in a full bar and homemade desserts? Say no more — we’re all in.

And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, the owners personally came out to greet us. That warm, genuine hospitality sealed the deal.

Just finished an absolutely wonderful meal this evening (March 12, 2024) at Del Sur Parrilla Argentina. The atmosphere is inviting, the staff is welcoming and very helpful, and the food and drinks are top notch! Ordered Warm beef carpaccio as an hors d'oeuvres which delights the tastebuds! The beef is nicely, thinly sliced, the onions well pan-fried and sweet, and the blue cheese, a perfect topping! My husband ordered the Angus rib-eye and it was perfectly cooked to order, juicy and tender. I ordered the Supreme Chicken Milanesa and it was so tender and crispy, it tasted like I was having breaded veal cutlets. We had two wonderful servers who were very attentive but never made us feel rushed. The timing of the drinks, the appetizer, the meal and the accompanying wine was absolutely perfect. What a great experience!! Never tried Argentinian food before. That was a first and definitely not the last! The staff was very friendly, with great service and the food was mind-blowing. We took the barbecue #1 plater that includes chicken breast, pork, saucisse, steak flank, and another meat that I've never eaten before but was the most delicious! There are lots of veggies on the grill with a big green salad and a side of mashed potatoes. All of it for 690 pesos! Be aware that the meal is for 2-4 people. We never got the chance to finish it. The size is humongous but so worth it for the price. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the setup is great. They have a list of great wines as well.
