Casa Ancestra — Restaurant in Valladolid

This newly opened bakery is a MUST go to when in Valladolid. We had the absolutely most incredibly delicious warm, freshly baked pastries here 😍. Their chocolate croissants were out of this world and perfectly done- perfectly crispy with an incredible chocolate center. We also loved the gold leaf decoration on top 🥰. We also got to try the slice of lemon cake which was incredible. We will probably be coming back here every day of our stay and be dreaming of this bakery after we leave. The owner came out to greet us, and told us telling us the bakery just opened and talked with us a bit. The staff was so nice and the prices were very reasonable. I hope this bakery becomes an instant success with lines out they door because they deserve it with how thoughtful and delicious their pastries are....

I usually don't give out low ratings but the reviews here completely tricked me, so I'm writing this as a warning for others.

Don't mistake this for a coffee shop, there's no service, it's just a simple bakery. There's no menu and just a small counter where you can choose something. Options felt pretty limited and what we ordered didn't taste good honestly, croissant was heavy and the "brownie" had a cake texture. People suggesting these were the best pastries outside of france probably frequent the most terrible bakeries in the US or something.

There's a couple tables to sit but no air conditioning or fans, which felt terrible...

Casa Ancestra is a delightful haven for vegans with a charming ambiance and young passionate owners. They offer a diverse selection of delicious vegan cakes, pastries and also plant based milk options for the coffee. The homemade sourdough breads are incredibly tasty. First time I found „real bread“ like in Germany. The vegan Focaccia with olives and tomatoes as well as the dried tomatoes out of the little store where they sell selfmade local products are perfect for takeaway on a day trip.
