We booked for a family of four (we have adult children) for a 3-night trip to Marrakech. Initially, there was some confusion over our booking as they couldn't locate it, but eventually, we were led through a couple of rooms to the main dining area. The place had a general feel of faded glory—it just seemed tired and outdated. At 6:30 pm, we were the only people there, resulting in a complete lack of atmosphere. We had made the booking without much research and were thus unprepared for the immediate shock of the 650DH per person cost (approximately £50 per head). What followed was a huge disappointment and, in our opinion, massively overpriced compared to other dining experiences we had in Marrakech at La Pergola and Le Jardin, which were about a quarter of the cost and significantly better.
The wine list started at 300DH for a ¾ bottle, escalating to 350DH and then 900DH. We were informed that the 300DH and 350DH options were unavailable, leaving us with a starting price of £70 for ¾ of a bottle! Opting for beers instead, we found they were priced at 100DH each.
The service and presentation of the food were excellent and timely – no complaints in this area. The four stars in this review are for the waiters, who were excellent. The manager is excluded from this, see later in the review.
The food itself ranged from average to very poor. My lamb shank main course was essentially a bone covered in scant pieces of meat, mostly fat, and completely tasteless. It was so unsatisfactory that I lodged a complaint and was told that the cost of one dessert would be deducted from our bill.
When attempting to pay the bill, I encountered who I believe may have been the manager. After informing her of the complaint and the refund offered by our waiter she seemed quite displeased. I commented upon her displeasure to which she responded along the lines of "well, in this life, nobody is ever completely happy." She didn't take my word for the refund and started dialing on the phone to summon our waiter I assumed. Eventually someone arrived from the main dining area and after a heated discussion in French and Arabic, they begrudgingly removed 250DH from our bill, leaving us with a total of 3200DH to pay. I refrained from adding the customary 10% tip due to the added insult at the till.
The entire experience left us feeling cheated, and we questioned why we didn’t just leave upon seeing the empty tables and the incredibly high...

My recent visit to Dar Moha was nothing short of a disaster. Despite the restaurant's beautiful setting and the warm welcome from the receptionist, the overall experience was severely disappointing.
From the moment we arrived, the service was poor. Considering the high prices, we expected exceptional service and delicious food. Unfortunately, this was not the case. We ordered almost everything on the menu, including all the appetizers and four main courses, yet not a single dish was enjoyable. The beverages were equally bad.
We were a group of seven, and it was clear that they needed to refill our water regularly. However, despite the restaurant being nearly empty, with only one other table occupied, the service was excruciatingly slow. We had to call the staff repeatedly to get their attention. I requested extra bread three times before it finally arrived on the fourth attempt. When we asked for ice, they merely placed an ice bucket in the middle of the table, expecting us to serve ourselves.
For an expensive and supposedly fancy restaurant, the service was shockingly subpar. The value for money is atrocious, especially considering the poor taste of the food. I had hoped to impress my family and in-laws with the renowned Moroccan cuisine, but instead, I was deeply embarrassed. The food at a simple corner eatery in the souk would have been far superior.
I do not recommend Dar Moha to anyone and will certainly never return. Save your time, money, and taste buds—this restaurant is...
Read moreAfter trying 2 of the 5star hotels, including the awarded ones, and couple of "high end" restaurants, i ended up my trip with Dar Moha. I have to say, it was the highlight restaurant of my entire trip! I have been reading Chef Moha's name a lot in gastronomy news, and as desperately loving Balmain, i felt i have to go. But after few -not-really-wow- experiences at the "luxury category" spots, i was questioning if i should go Dar Moha or not. But im more than glad that i made it there. Starting from the front desk (i cannot really pronounce or write the name of the lady at the welcome desk) all the way to the end, every every everything was flawless. Especially billions of thanks to Mr Nabil (i wish i write his name right), when i was so lost in choosing my food, he helped me with choosing my food and i have to confess this is the best Bastilla in the world! With the kindness and real hospitalities of the team i felt like im in the palace. The only thing as a customer, i wish for a smiling face, but if its only real smile. And when you see people's eyes are shining, it worths for everything. It was also amazing that how team is telling you about Chef Moha as he is the best of bests. If the team is adoring him and if they are happy, this is worth for everything. As a gastronomy worker and a tour guide in gastronomy tours, also loved the flawlessly ironed clean table cloths and nothing was too much in such a home feeling restaurant. You made my trip amazing dear Dar Moha. Thank you so much for everything. From...
