Lovely aesthetic and drinks and food! Had made a reservation a few weeks in advance for dinner at the rooftop around sunset and glad we made this call.
Just the loveliest aesthetic here with the view outside and a violinist playing some music, and lovely lightning. Presentation on all the food and drinks was also spectacular.
Food is actually quite expensive, and this might actually be the most expensive meal my family had on our vacation this whole month even though we were in Europe before coming to Marrakesh.
Sunset Mocktail - What a beautiful mockail! The raspberry juice and lemon and everything else went so well together. I could have totally had a second one!
Husband got the Marrakesh Sour (Like a whiskey sour with cinnamon), and he liked it!
Sister got the Medina mocktail and enjoyed it. Peach Iced Tea was also very flavorful! Perfect peachy flavor and very smooth.
Chicken Pastilla was my favorite! Perfectly crispy outside and delicious filling on the inside. That touch of the powdered sugar on top really brought it all together and it made it so so so good. It was like a perfect sweet and savory dish. Shared it among the five of us at the table, but I could have totally ordered a second one only for myself. So good!
Cho Cho Chocolate (A chocolate fondant with chocolate ice cream and chocolate crunch on the side) was unbelievable! That fondant was like a chocolate lava cake with a super gooey center and just so so so rich and so delicious! Even that chocolate ice cream and the crunchy chocolate thing they added on the side was really really nice. I'm not usually a fan of chocolate ice cream but this was delicious.
Bad Boys Chicken Tacos - I appreciate how these are the actual Mexican tacos and not the French version. The tacos themselves were really delicious. Perfect grunchy shell with good amount of chicken and a really nice sauce! Only thing is they were three very small tacos. A fourth one would have made really worth the price.
Bad Girls Crab Spring Rolls - Definitely appreciate that. These were fresh spring rolls and not deep fried. Flavor also was really nice. The crab meat along with the wrapping was just the perfect balance of texture and flavor. I'm not sure what all that other stuff on the plate was but I didn't have it. Husband tried it and said it made the thing a little bitter but the rolls themselves were nice.
Pulpo Octopus with Mashed Potatoes - I never would have thought this combination would be so good! That creaminess of the mashed potato and slide juvens of the octopus was unbelievable! Flavor was quite simple with no spices or anything but such a good dish! Very good portion size too!
Beef Tajin - This didn't look like the classic tagine you get at normal Moroccan restaurants coz they brought it in like a clay pot instead of the actual charging tajine. It was like pulled shredded beef (And quite a large amount of it as well) which came with a little bit of couscous and some bread. Everyone on the table seemed to like this, but I found it a little bit too salty without the...
Read moreAn Oasis Above the Chaos, Made Perfect by Montaser ★★★★★ Finding a moment of tranquility amidst the exhilarating energy of the Marrakesh medina can be a challenge, but that's exactly what we discovered at the rooftop bar of our riad. As the sun began to set, casting a warm, golden glow over the ochre city, we ascended the narrow staircase and stepped out into a truly magical setting. The view alone is worth the visit. A breathtaking 360-degree panorama unfolded before us: the iconic silhouette of the Koutoubia Mosque, the distant, hazy peaks of the Atlas Mountains, and a tapestry of countless satellite dishes and terracotta roofs below. The gentle evening call to prayer echoed from nearby minarets, blending beautifully with the bar's soft, ambient lounge music. It felt like we were suspended in a perfect moment, floating above the world. The drinks menu was creative, offering classic cocktails with a delightful Moroccan twist. I opted for a "Marrakesh Mule" with fresh mint and a hint of ginger spice, while my partner chose a hibiscus-infused spritz. Both were expertly crafted, refreshing, and beautifully presented. However, the true highlight of our evening, and the element that elevated our experience from great to truly unforgettable, was our server, Montaser. From the moment he greeted us, he embodied the very essence of warm Moroccan hospitality. He wasn't just taking our order; he was our host, our guide, and our friend for the evening. Montaser had an incredible intuition for service—attentive without ever being intrusive. He recommended our drinks with a confident smile, shared a fascinating story about the history of the building we were in, and pointed out constellations as they began to appear in the darkening sky. His genuine passion for his city and his work was infectious. When we asked for a dinner recommendation nearby, he didn't just give us a name; he walked us through the best dishes to try and even offered to call ahead for us. In a city full of stunning sights and memorable experiences, it's often the human connections that leave the most lasting impression. While we came for the rooftop views, we will remember the evening for the exceptional care and kindness shown to us by Montaser. He is a true credit to the establishment and a perfect ambassador for Moroccan hospitality. If you visit, make sure to...
Read moreIncredible place - 10/10 recommend will definitely be coming back when I'm next in Marrakech. It felt like a safe haven from the horrible experienced we've had all over Morocco.
The staff were so incredible and were even better after I told them that it was my birthday (they brought me out a dessert with a candle and made the whole place sing me a happy birthday!).
We were supposed to go somewhere else after but we cancelled it within a few minutes of arriving because it was such a nice vibe here. The views of the city are lovely and the music was sensational. I saved so many songs from my visit. When we told them that we were going to split our food (as we always do anywhere we go) they decided to half the burgers on our behalf. Such a lovely thought even when we didn't expect it! This is what you call amazing customer service!
We had the cheese burger and the chicken burger. Because I'm lactose intolerant I found there was too much cheese on the beef burger but that's a personal preference that is manage - the burger was cooked to perfection! The chicken burger was also cooked to perfection but I could tell the type of chicken wasn't amazing (most likely not free range in Morocco and not fed well) - not really something that the bar can control.
The drinks were sensational too - such an amazing selection!
On my return I'd like to try out the tapas as this was something I didn't get to try at the time.
When the night was done they even recommended where to get a decent taxi that doesn't cost too much.
Now, of course, leaving the restaurant in the night in the alleyways of the old city is not ideal and that's the only negative I have of it - this is more a criticism of the area and not of the restaurant. Either way, we managed totally fine and just followed crowds or other tourists.
I could not speak more highly of this experience and I have already started recommending this place...
