A little taste of France in the heart of Morocco, @lepalacemarrakech oozes class and a tasteful experience.
The service was great and the food was out of this world though I have some minor criticisms.
The fact that only evian water was served (evian is rubbish and tastes worse than tap water), air con was not on in a baking hot restaurant. The fact that cigarettes were allowed to be smoked despite there being an outdoor area? I know its Morocco but for such a beautiful restaurant the smoking makes it lose major points.
As for the food - I have no criticism, everything was cooked to perfection, the pasta was so delicious and cooked al dente, the calamari had a smokey grilled flavour and the fresh basil was a lovely touch, though I was unaware of the pork in the dish but that's my own fault for not asking more questions, the fillet steak was cooked to perfection, the meat was tender and packed with flavours from the incredible sauce. The veal chop was also delicious and tender. We did want to stay for dessert but somebody thought it was nice to light cigarette after cigarette so we could no longer stay. Thank god he wasnt there while we was eating our dinner. We did ask the manager if we could be seated downstairs to have our dessert but he said he had no staff despite their being many staff.
Overall the food is fantastic as well as ambiance but it would probably be more enjoyable...
Read moreWe made a reservation for five people in advance via our tour guide, and when we came here, the restaurant was almost empty, but still we were refused to be seated for a six person table, which was more spacious. Instead we were assigned to tables that were round and tiny, on the corridor that was super narrow to the point an adult man could hardly walk normally, with the food kept passing over our head when the waiters passed by Menu came with a QR code with japanese, south American, western fusion food. The main dish including the beef and tuna were just so-so, slightly better with the duck breast. The most tasty food was fried chips and smashed potatoes for a French restaurant. Amazing! As time passed, heavy smoking inside the restaurant which was hard to bear with. Overall ~600dh per head for three starter, three mains and three cocktail. All the staff except the manager were friendly, food was pricey and below expectation. If you are expecting authentic French food or fine dining, definitely not this place with this price. If you wish for nice place to chill, sorry there are many more options...
Read moreMy sister and I had dinner reservations here at 7pm tonight (January 2, 2023). Everything was going fairly well until the end of our dining experience. As guests started piling in, we (young black patrons) were asked to “move” so that other guests (older white patrons) could sit. These patrons didn’t wish to sit downstairs so of course we were asked to move. We respectfully declined and requested to finish our wine and bottled water and asked for the check. We were looking forward to having dessert. The worst experience that I’ve had at an establishment here in Marrakech. Racist and discriminatory. Mind you, there were two Asian women at a nearby table sitting there snapping photos of each other. I’m not quite sure why they were not asked to give up their table. Horrible experience! Beyond disgusted with this establishment. Will never return...
