Little Buddha Restaurant — Restaurant in Kathmandu Metropolitan City

Totally overrated!! Prices are high. Food is ridiculously bad. And friendly service non-existing. To put it mildly.

I mean I don't expect local prices if I enter a restaurant at Narsingh Chowk in Thamel. Since it is aimed at tourists, I'm expecting higher prices, but proper food and at least friendly customer service. Unfortunately, everything but high prices were lacking. The only good thing at the restaurant was the decoration.

Let's start with the food. The menu is completely overpriced. But that's "normal" due to the location. We ordered a simple tomato and cheese sandwich and grilled vegetables. We saw the plates of other customers which already looked not very yummy and decided to play it safe. How can you go wrong with a sandwich and grilled vegetables? Well, look at the pictures, they say it all. The sandwich was just completely dry. The french fries on the plate were dry and even the salad was dry - they didn't even bother to add a little vinaigrette to the salad. In all my life I haven't been served just naked salad leaves thrown together. If you think that it couldn't get worse, wait for the grilled vegetables. One of the most disgusting dishes I've ever eaten in my whole life and probably the worst dish I've ever eaten in Nepal. The grilled vegetables were just ridiculous. Look at the photos. How can people like this?! The orange sauce looked so disgusting. The color is so unnatural, it will probably even glow in the dark. But the worse was that mashed potato thing that even didn't deserved it's name. Look at the consistency in the video. It's like they add glue to it!

You might think that a restaurant at Thamel aims at satisfying customers? Well, we waited more than 45minutes for those two dishes. The grilled vegetables were just inedible. We instantly put the plate to the side. A woman dressed in a white shirt who seems to be the floor manager, just took our barely touched plate away without even bothering to ask us whether something was wrong with the food or not. She even didn't bother to apologize or to ask us whether she can provide us with anything else. Besides this woman was special. She constantly walked around the tables, observing everything without even one single smile. When customers wanted to order and no waiter (dressed in red) was around, the floor manager (not carrying something to write on) took a napkin from the dispenser of the table and wrote down their order on a napkin. Of course, writing on paper is a bit struggling and everyone felt like being in a comedy show. I've never seen anything like that in a restaurant. A waiter came and she scolded the waiter right in front of all of us for not being attentive at all. So rude!

Of course, we had to pay the full bill at the end. It was 1,370rs for just a drink and a sandwich. No apologies what soever. They were just happy that we left without...

One of the worst food experience i had in my entire life. We ordered spicy wings which was good 3/5 . I had a chicken and mushroom soup which was hot and delicious i enjoyed it but when it came to burger the bacon were half raw or maybe wasn’t warmed in the oven properly cause i could see the fat and the rawness lingering around and i am a chef too and i know how it needs to be done plus we found a hair inside the burger too . I ordered grilled salmon mashed potato and sautee vegetable(this was the worst) as i was starving to death . 1 The food was served in a cold plate. 2 The mash potatoes and sautee vegetables were chill cold. Had a very sour taste. 3 only the salmon were grilled but still undercooked. So i decided to not have it , when it comes to the bill we didn’t get any discount or anything,we were charged full . There’s lots to improve regardless but the place itself is lovely with a good service...

As a visitor, we all are more than satisfied and good enough test from this little Buddha restaurant. Professionally, I am a tour operator & Director from Nepal Himalayas Trekking. Till today I am operating many kinds of activities in Nepal. I have always fixed farewell dinner in the top of my tours. All my different countries clients are very satisfied with this restaurant Diss. There is always great hygienic foods with lovely test. All kinds of travellers want to visit again and again to get best meals. Probably Little Buddha restaurant is the best in the town for all kinds of meals. Cheers Nepal Himalayas...
